Nepal’s 20% Growth Revolution: Why Kalkiism Holds the Key

What if Nepal could grow at 20% a year, every year, for the next 20 years? No country has done it before — not China, not India, not even the so-called economic powerhouses of the West. China had short bursts of double-digit growth, yes, but not sustained. India averages around 7%, with some states peaking higher. Europe and the U.S.? They celebrate when they touch 2%.

But Nepal — often seen as a remittance economy dependent on aid and migration — now has a chance to leap ahead of the world. The Kalkiism Research Center has done the homework. The plan is simple, bold, and entirely achievable. If implemented, this proposal will spark an economic revolution unlike any seen in modern history.

The Three Pillars of the Proposal

1. 100% Cashless Economy
   While some countries have reached 90% cashlessness, none have dared go all the way. Nepal can be the first. This isn't just about digital payments. It's about eliminating corruption at the root, ensuring complete transparency, and making financial flows traceable and efficient.

2. All Banks Owned by the Government
   In a nation where private banks often operate for profit, this shift ensures that the banking system works solely for public welfare — not for shareholders, not for profit margins, but for people.

3. Zero Interest Rate
   This is the game-changer. With zero interest, the economy unlocks limitless capital for productive activities. No foreign aid. No foreign direct investment needed. Nepal can fund its own growth.

What Happens Next?

With these three pillars in place, Nepal can offer high-quality education, health care, and legal services — all for free. Not in theory, not someday — but right away. Even without new growth, these services can be provided. But in an era dominated by knowledge economies, this will unleash exponential growth.

• Nepal will have the best-educated population on the planet.

• It will be the healthiest.

• And it will be a just country — because zero interest and transparent digital transactions mean zero corruption.

The private sector will boom. Jobs will multiply. Nepalis toiling in the Gulf or dishwashing in New York can finally come home with dignity and opportunity.

The Resistance from the Old Guard

But there’s a problem. The current political establishment in Nepal, clinging to outdated models and personal interests, is resisting. The constitution allows for a referendum, but corrupt forces are blocking even that. If politicians don’t make way for the people’s will, a revolution may be the only path left.

This is where the Nepali diaspora comes in.

A Call to the Diaspora

There are hundreds of thousands of Nepalis in the United States alone. If just 5,000 Nepalis contribute $100 a month, the Kalkiism Research Center can fund the grassroots movement that will make this revolution a reality.

But money is the small part of the ask.

The bigger ask is this: Use your voice.
Nepalis around the world — and inside the country — must flood social media with a clear and unified message:

• We demand free, high-quality education.

• We demand free health care.

• We demand jobs inside Nepal.

• We demand a 100% cashless, corruption-free economy.

Today, most Nepalis have smartphones. Those smartphones have internet. That’s enough. Your voice is the revolution.

प्रवासी नेपाली का आश बालेन शाह

प्रवासी नेपाली भनेका देश को माया नलागेर, परिवार को माया नलागेर, चटक्क माया मारेर विदेश हुइंकिएका मानिस हरु होइनन। प्रवासी नेपाली भनेका आफ्नो देश का चोर निकम्मा नेता हरु ले देश बाट धपाएका मानिस हरु हुन। प्रवासी नेपाली भनेका आफ्नै देश बाट पलायन हुनु परेका शरणार्थी (refugee) हरु हुन। 

चीन ले सन १९९० बाट सन २०१० सम्म १०% को दर ले आर्थिक वृद्धि गर्यो। अब त १०% गर्न गारहो छ। ६% गर्न पायो भने मक्ख पर्छ। अमेरिका ले ३% गर्न पायो भन्ने दंग पर्छ। बेलायत ले १% गर्यो भने वाह वाह गर्छ। तर नेपाल र बिहार ले चाहयो भने २०% गर्न सक्छ। कम प्रति व्यक्ति आय भएको देश लाई द्रुत गतिको विकास गर्ने मौका रहेको हुन्छ। तर त्यस का लागि सुशासन चाहिन्छ। सही नीति चाहिन्छ। उद्यम गर्ने सही वातावरण हुनुपर्छ। 

अमेरिका को शुरुवाती दौर मा नेता हरु साल को दुई महिना नेता काम गर्थे बाँकी समय खेतीपाती। मेयर बालेन शाह ले शनिवार आइतवार आफ्नो रैप करियर कायम राखेको राम्रो कुरा हो। मेरो आम्दानी को स्रोत मेरो संगीत, मेयर बनेर गर्ने काम त सेवा हो भन्न पाइयो। 

पुँजी को कमी होइन। पुँजी त विश्व बाजार मा असीमित नै छ। प्रविधि भन्ने हो भने बैंगलोर ले दुनिया हल्लाएको छ। बालेन शाह को दोस्रो गृहनगर बैंगलोर हो। काठमाण्डु पछि। 

नेपाल जस्तो गरीब देश मा जब सुशासन कायम गरिन्छ, देश द्रुत गतिको विकास को बाटो हिँड्छ। अनि त बढ़ी पैसा कमाउन का लागि नै नेपाली हरु बेलायत, अमेरिका, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, युरोप, खाड़ी देश, मलेशिया, जापान छोड़ेर नेपाल आइपुग्छन। सन २००८ को उथलपुथल जब भयो अमेरिका मा थुप्रै भारतीय भारत र चिनिया चीन फर्के। अमेरिका मा भन्दा बढ़ी कमाइ त्यही हुने देखेर। 

सर्विस सेक्टर का थुप्रै काम छन जुन जहाँ सुकै बाट गर्न सकिन्छ। जस्तो कि काठमाण्डु बसेर दुनिया भरि ट्युसन पढाउन सकिन्छ। वीसा लगाउनै परेन। इंटरनेट भए पुग्यो। काठमाण्डु बसी बसी दुनिया भरि गएर योग र मेडिटेशन सिकाउन सकिन्छ। 

एउटा खुट्टा अमेरिका अर्को खुट्टा नेपाल मा राखेर थुप्रै कंपनी हरु सञ्चालन गर्न सकिन्छ। 

सुशासन ले समृद्धि दिने हो। सुसाशन इमान को कुरा हो। सुशासन क्षमता र सीप को कुरा हो।

हामी प्रवासी नेपाली विदेश जान्छौं र मक्ख पर्छौं। म १९९६ मा अमेरिका आउँदा यस्तो परिवार बाट आएँ जसको त्यति बेला सम्म गाड़ी अथवा फोन थिएन। गाड़ी नहुनु समस्या थिएन। फोन नहुनु ठुलो समस्या। छिमेक मा एक जना काका लाई फोन गर्नुपर्ने। फोन का लागि एप्लीकेशन भरेको त हो छोरा विदेश जाने भए पछि तर तीन चार वर्ष लाग्यो। अमेरिका मा फोन समोसा किने जस्तै किन्दा रहेछन। म जिल परेको। हुन त अचेल नेपाल मा पनि फोन समोसा नै हो। 

हामी प्रवासी नेपाली विदेश जान्छौं र अलि बढ़ी नै मक्ख पर्छौं। अहिले मैले फ्रेश तरकारी खाने भनेको चना फुलायो रात भरि। त्यो बाहेक फ्रेश तरकारी भनेको सपना। मेरो गाउँ एउटा साधारण थर्ड वर्ल्ड गाउँ। मान्छे तर बिहे गरे आजीवन सँगै रहन्छन। पैसा ले विवाह धान्ने होइन। अमेरिका मा थाहा नभएको कुरो।

पंचायत बाट एकै पटक गणतंत्र सम्म पुग्ने बाटो शायद थिएन। त्यस्तै पहिला अप्रिल २००६ वाला लोकतंत्र का लागि क्रांति हुनुपर्थ्यो अनि मात्र मधेसी क्रांति संभव थियो। सीक्वेंस मिलाउनुपर्ने हुन्छ। त्यस्तै अहिले नेपालमा भ्रष्टाचार नियंत्रण नगरेर आर्थिक क्रांति गर्ने बाटो उपलब्ध छैन। सन २००५ मा ज्ञानेंद्र जुन ठाउँ मा थिए अहिले त्यही ठाउँ मा नेता, कार्यकर्ता, कर्मचारी, व्यापारी, ठेकेदार, माफिया छन। 

त्यो भ्रष्टाचार नियंत्रण र आर्थिक क्रान्ति का लागि योगदान पुर्याउने सबैभन्दा उपयुक्त तरिका नै यो वीडियो ब्लॉग हो। मेरो भुमिका निर्णायक रहनेछ। नेपाल म रोज पुगिरहेको हुन्छु। दुनिया डिजिटल छ।

प्रवासी नेपाली ले मतदान गर्न पाउनु पर्छ

प्रवासी नेपाली ले मतदान गर्न पाउनु पर्छ। तीन करोड़ नेपाली नेपाल मा छ। एक करोड़ नेपाल बाहिर छ। नेपालको २५% अर्थतंत्र अहिले remittance economy हो। ती एक करोड़ नेपाली को मताधिकार खोस्ने काम सही होइन। ऑनलाइन वोटिंग को व्यवस्था गरेर ती नेपाली लाई नेपाल को प्रत्येक तहको चुनाव मा मतदान गर्ने व्यवस्था हुनुपर्छ।

भारत मा रहेका नेपाली को सक्रियता बढे पछि नेपाल को राजनीति मा भारत देश र हिन्दी भाषा को अंध विरोध विस्तारै कम कम हुँदै पनि जान्छ। अनि विकास को मुद्दा सर्वोपरि भएर जान्छ अनि विकास हुन्छ र देश मा रोजगारी सिर्जना हुने बाटा हरु खुल्छन्।



६ प्रदेशको विरोधमा बानेश्वर ठप्प

कार्यक्रमका विशेष अतिथि एमाओवादी केन्द्रीय सचिव वर्षमान पुन (अनन्त)ले चार दलका नेताहरूले सहमति गरेको २३ गते राति आदिवासी जनजातिहरुले कालो दिनको रूपमा सम्झिनुपर्ने बताए । पूर्व अर्थमन्त्री समेत रहेका पुनले नयाँ संविधानको लागि भनेर ल्याएको मस्यौदाले आदिवासाीको आत्मसम्मान गर्न नसकेको बताउँदै २३ गते राति गरेको ६ प्रदेशको सहमतिको कुनै सैद्धान्तिक जग नरहेको बताए । .....

खसी काटेर वितरण गर्दा समेत केही नियम र सिद्धान्त हुने तर्क प्रस्तुत गर्दै सिङ्गो देशलाई कांग्रेस, एमाले र एमाओवादीका नेताहरूले कुनै सिद्धान्तविना आफ्नो निजी स्वार्थलाई आधार बनाएर ६ प्रदेशको प्रस्ताव ल्याएको बताए । नेपालमा उत्पीडित जातिको अधिकारलाई स्थापित गर्ने, धर्मनिरपेक्ष राज्य निर्माण गर्ने र जातीय आधारमा संघीय नेपाल स्थापित गर्ने उद्देश्यले जनयुद्ध भएको तर्क प्रस्तुत गर्दै नेता पुनले नेता प्रचण्ड र बाबुरामको नामै लिएर नेताहरूको कारण आफूलाई एमाओवादीको नेता हो भन्नसम्म लाज हुने अवस्थामा पुर्‍याएको बताए ।

...... पुनले आधिकार मागेर नपाइने, लडेरै लिनुपर्ने मान्यता स्थापित भएको तर्क प्रस्तुत गर्दै सभासद समेत रहेका महासंघका अध्यक्ष र महासचिवलाई लक्षित गर्दै भने, ‘तपाईंहरू भरै गएर नेताहरूलाई हामीले त यसो पो गर्‍यौं, अलिकति बढाइदिनुपर्‍यो नभन्नुहोला ।’ .... पुनले भने, ‘आफ्नो पार्टी त जनयुद्ध लडेर आएको पार्टी, नेताहरूलाई भन्दा मान्छन् होला भनेर धेरै पटक कम्तीमा बहुपहिचानमा अडान राख्नुस् भनियो तर सुनेनन् ।’ उनले थपे ‘म आफ्नै पार्टीका नेताहरुबाट भुक्तभोगी भएँ, अब मागेर र भनेर अधिकार नपाइने रहेछ ।’ ...... पुनले प्रचण्ड, बाबुराम हिजोको नेतृत्व नभएर शासकको रुपमा रुपान्तरण भएको आरोप लगाए । उत्पीडित जातिहरुको अधिकार नसमेटिएको संघीय राज्य आफूहरुलाई मान्य नहुने तर्क गर्दै जनजाति नेताहरुलाई खुट्टा नकमाइ कडा संघर्षमा उत्रिन आह्वान समेत गरे । .......... नेपाली कांग्रेसका नेता तथा पूर्व सभासद इन्द्रबहादुर गुरुङले कांग्रेस, एमाले र एमाओवादीका नेताहरु जातीय तथा धार्मिक युद्ध गराउने पक्षमा देखिएको आरोप लगाउँदै युद्ध चाहे आफूहरु पनि तयार रहेको बताए । ........

गुरुङले कांग्रेस सभापति सुशील कोइरालाले आफूलाई बोलाएर ‘जातीय पहिचानको राज्य’ हुँदै हुँदैन भनेपछि आफूले पनि ‘ब्राह्मणवादी एकल जातीय राज्य मान्न तयार नहुने’ बताएको प्रशंग उल्लेख गरे ।

....... परम्परागत एकल जातीय राज्य स्वीकार नगर्ने ..... आवश्यक परे आदिवासी जनजातिहरु गाउँगाउँबाट सहर आउने .... विश्व शान्तिको दूत बुद्धको फोटो टाँसेर हिन्दू राज्यको प्रचार गर्ने तामाङहरुको खोजी भइरहेको तामाङले बताए । ...... कार्यक्रममा किरात राई, लिम्बू, सुनुवार, थारु, गुरुङ, तामाङ लगायतका सांस्कृतिक झा“की प्रस्तुत भएको थियो । भृकुटीमण्डपदेखि निस्केको र्‍यालीमा सहभागीहरुले ‘६ प्रदेशको सहमति धोका हो, पहिचानसहितको संघीय राज्य स्थापना गरौं, धर्मनिरपेक्षता कायम गरौं, हिन्दू राज्य मान्दैनौं, पहिचान विरोधी होसियार’ लगायतका नारा लगाएका थिए ।

थारुहरुको आन्दोलन उत्कर्षमा पुर्‍याउन मधेशी मोर्चाको समर्थन

अखण्ड सुदूरपश्चिमको नाममा थारु समुदायलाई फेरि पनि कमैया, दास बनाइराख्ने र उनीहरुलाई स्रोतसाधनबाट वञ्चित गर्न सरकारले षड्यन्त्रमूलक ढंगले देशको सीमांकन गरेको ..... हालको सीमांकन नेपालको अन्तरिम संविधान २०६३, ऐतिहासिक जनान्दोलन, जनयुद्ध, मधेश जनविद्रोह र आदिवासी जनजाति आन्दोलनको प्रतिकूल हुनुका साथै समानुपातिक समावेशिता, पहिचान र प्रादेशिक स्वायत्ततासहितको संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्रात्मक नेपालको मूलमर्म र भावना विपरीत रहेको

अगस्ट ९, लन्डन । आदिवासी जनजाति राष्ट्रिय आन्दोलन नेपालका प्रवक्ता डा. ओम गुरुङले ४ दलको बीचमा भएको नामांकनविनाको ६ प्रदेश कुनै पनि हालतमा स्वीकार गर्न नसकिने बताएका छन् ।

नभम्बर २००६ मा भएको अाफ्नो िकिसमको पिहलो िमिटङ जहाँ न्यु यर्क मेट्रोका अिधकांश नेपाली संगठनहरूभेला भएका िथए त्यहाँ ६ मिहनापिछ हुने त्यस िकिसमको िमिटङकालािग संयोजक म चुिनएँ, तर त्यो दोस्रोिमिटङ िवफल भयो। दुिनयाँ भरका टुिरष्ट सेन्ट्रल पार्कमा भेला हुन लालाियत, नेपालीहरूलाई त्यो पार्कमाभेला हुन लाज लाग्ने। हामी नेपालीसँग रेष्टोराँमा भेला हुने पैसा छैन भन्न खोजेको हो िक के हो भन्ने तर्क।

तारा बाहुनको बडा गन्दा राजनीित छ। नभम्बर २००६ मा अर्को िमिटंकालािग सर्वसम्मतबाट नै म संयोजकचुिनएको हो। र त्यो िनर्णयको िभिडयो अनलाइन छ। तर होइन, मई २००७ को िमिटंकालािग पिन संयोजक मनै हो, मलाई नै चुनेको हो भनेर िलंडे िढपी गर्न थाल्यो।

राजनीितक चेतनाको कमी

न्यु यर्कको स्थानीय राजनीितमा नेपालीहरूको केही पिन अौकात नै छैन। न्यु यर्क शहरको चुनावमा न मत िदने अिधकार छ न केही। शहरको सबैभन्दा कम ज्याला पाइने कामहरू नेपालीले गिररहेका हुन्छन्। एक डलरको सत्तरी रुप्या गर्दा नेपालमा भन्दा बढी नै कमाइएछ जस्तो लाग्छ तर स्थानीय मापदण्डमा पिन हेर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ।

नेपालीहरुको राजनीितक अवस्थामा सुधार ल्याउन अमेरीकामा comprehensive immigration reform हुनुपर्ने हुन्छ र त्यसकालािग संख्या भएको समुदाय िहस्प्यािनक समुदाय हो, नेपाली समुदाय होइन भन्ने िनर्क्यौल मैले नगरेको होइन। बराक राष्ट्रपित भएपिछ त्यो हुन्छ भनेर म बराकलाई सहयोग गर्दैछु।

एक िछनकालािग त मैले िनर्णय गरें, म अब मेरो नया कम्पनी, बराकको चुनावी अिभयान र केही हदसम्म मेरो संगठन हाम्रो नेपालमा सीिमत रहन्छु। न्यु यर्कका पहाडी बाहुनहरूको मेरो नेतृत्व नमान्ने anti-Madhesi prejudice यित strong छ िक अाफ्नै िहतका कुरा पिन ती गर्न तयार छैनन्। त्यसपिछ मिहनौंसम्म म न्यु यर्कको िमनी नेपालबाट अलग नै रहें।

न्यु यर्कका नेपालीहरूको राजनीितक चेतनाको स्तर

िविभन्न संगठन छन्। ितनले समय समयमा कुनै सान्ितनो कार्यक्रम गर्छन्। त्यित हो। सारा समय नेपालमा रहेका नेताहरूको कुरा काट्दैमा िबताउँछन्। अाफ्नो immediate surrounding मा रहेको अाफ्नो utter powerlessness बारे कसैले चुईं बोल्या छैन। न कतै छलफल छ न केही।

मैले छाता संगठनको कुरा उठाउँदा खेिर, होइन बढी bureaucracy नथपौं भनेर मेरा निजकका साथीहरूले नै भन्न थालें। मेरो अाइिडया प्रित कित कम जोड िथयो त्यित बेला त्यसैबाट थाहा हुन्छ।

मैले bureaucracy थप्न खोजेको होइन। रहेको bureaucracy मा democracy र transparency थप्न खोजेको हुँ। Bureaucracy त पिहले देिख नै छ। िवश्वका नेपालीहरूको अध्यक्ष उपेन्द्र महतो। अमेरीकाका नेपालीहरूको अध्यक्ष अम्िबका अिधकारी। न्यु यर्कका नेपालीहरूको अध्यक्ष तारा िनरौला। म तीनै जनालाई व्यक्ितगत िचन्दछु र तीनै जनाले अा-अाफ्नो किरयरमा पाएका सफलताको खुला िदलले सराहना गर्दछु। तीनै जनाले प्रवासी नेपालीकालािग गरेका योगदानको सराहना गर्दछु।

तर मेरो भनाइ यित मात्र हो िक अिहलेसम्मको प्रवासी नेपालीको अान्दोलन कोठे राजनीितमा सीिमत रहन गयो। गुम्िसयो। अलोकतान्त्िरक, अपारदर्शी भयो। Mass based भएन। मैले गर्ने गरेको संगठनात्मक अालोचना तारा िनरौलाको मात्र होइन, अम्िबका अिधकारीको पिन हो, उपेन्द्र महतोको पिन हो।

अमेरीकामा रहेका सवा लाख नेपाली मध्ये ४०,००० हाराहारी त न्यु यर्कमा नै छन्। प्रवासी नेपालीको अान्दोलनलाई नया अायाम िदन िवश्वको राजधानी शहरमा रहेका नेपाली सबैभन्दा अग्रपंक्ितमा अाउनुपर्यो। मेरो भनाइ त्यित हो।

गुलामी सहने हो भने ताराको अिनर्वािचत नेतृत्वमा नै बस

तारा िनरौलालाई मैले व्यक्ितगत किहले पिन मन नपराएको छैन। तर उसलाई मैले किहले नेता मानेको छैन। "I have never voted for you for anything. You are not my leader" भनेर मैले नभम्बर २००६ को िमिटङमा नै भिनिदएको हुँ, on the camera नै।

छाता संगठनको कुरामा फेिर पहल गर्नुपर्छ जस्तो मलाई लागेको हो। मेरो कम्पनीको िभजन नै फर्स्ट वर्ल्ड र थर्ड वर्ल्डबीचको खाडल पुर्ने भनेकै इन्टरनेटले हो भन्ने हो। "२५% स्वािमत्व अाधा िमिलयन डलरमा देउ" भनेर एउटा इन्भेस्टरले भन्दा मैले नाइ भन्िदएँ।

Conflict Displaces 3,000 From Siraha Himalayan Times With various armed gangs continuing extortion, looting, abduction, murder and capture of land and houses for the last few months, 3,000 people including 96 families have been displaced from Siraha. Civilians, government employees, entrepreneurs, politicians and professionals have continued quitting the district after atrocities went so high that they could no more endure with them. Twenty-eight families including eight hotel entrepreneurs, five advocates, a teacher, a health personnel, three bus entrepreneurs and 10 civilians have quit the district headquarters alone. Owner of Shrestha Hotel Sushil Kumar Shrestha was displaced from Siraha-1 after he began to receive continuous threats from different groups demanding money. He locked up the hotel some two months ago and headed to somewhere else, leaving 15 employees of the Madhesh origin jobless. Ram Avatar Mandal of Siraha-1, who used to work as an accountant at Shrestha's hotel, said the hotel-owner received threats almost every day. Umesh Joshi of Siraha-1 said he had to leave his birthplace after he could bear no more with extortion demands above his capacity from over a dozen of groups including the factions of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha, Madhesi Mukti Tiger, United People's Terai Liberation Front and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum. District president of Nepal Human Rights Organization Chandra Dev Kamati said at least 3,000 people have been displaced from the district due to the ongoing conflict. INSEC representative Dev Raj Pokharel said cases of extortion and abduction have reached a new height in the district.

िहजो बल्ल पिहलो पटक सत्य नारायण मन्िदरको नेपाली कार्यक्रममा मलाई पहाडीहरुले पिहलो पटक बोल्निदए। दुइ िमनट बोलें पिन। शुरुमा त उद्घोषकले म ितर हेर्दै "कोही पत्रकार हुनुहुन्छ भने उिभएर अाफ्नोपिरचय िदनुहोला" भन्यो। राजदुतले पिन मितर हेरेर इसारा गर्नुभयो।

पिहलो पटक त नभनौं। कर्मा ग्याल्डेनजीले अािदवासी जनजाितको धेरै पिहलाको एउटा िमिटङमा मलाई बोल्निदएको हो। त्यो हो पिहलो पटक। तर त्यो एउटा कार्यक्रम नभएर एउटा िमिटङ िथयो।

सबभन्दा अिघल्लो पंक्ितमा ताराजी, कर्माजी र मलाई बसाइयो। बाहुन, जनजाित, मधेशी। मिहला चािहंदेिखनँ। मृदुलाजी अथवा नर्मदाजीलाई अगािड ल्याउनुपर्ने िथयो।

अिघल्लो कार्यक्रममा कर्माले प्याच्च "मिदसे" शब्द बोल्दा मलाई झनक्क रीस उठेको हो। अाज भेट्दादेख्दा, र सँगै बस्दा फेरी मन पग्िलयो। उ बेलुकी िछट्टै सुतेर िबहान दुई बजे कामकालािग उठ्नुपर्ने मान्छे। योकार्यक्रम सिकएपिछ तपाई र म गफ गरौं भनेर मैले भने। कर्माजीले हुन्छ भन्नुभयो। मैले भन्न चाहेकोकुरा यस प्रकार िथयो।

"म न्यु यर्क अाएको दुई वर्ष कट्यो्। यस दौरान नेपाली समुदायमा मलाई सबैभन्दा बढी घत लागेको व्यक्िततपाईं। यो कुरा मैले पिहला पिन publicly नै भनेको छु। बाहुन, जनजाित, मधेशी, मिहला नेताहरुमा सबैभन्दाबढी घत लागेको तपाईं। तर तपाईले प्याच्च मिदेसे शब्द उच्चारण गर्दा यो मान्छेसँग अब किहले बोल्िदनँजस्तो लाग्यो। तपाईले sorry भन्नुस् र अबदेिख मधेशी भन्नुस् let's go back to being friends." भनेरभन्ने योजना िथयो।

तर मेरो दुई िमनटको मन्तव्यको बीचमा नै "ज्वाला िसंह" भनेर जुरुक्क उठेर िहडेको वयक्ित कर्मा। यही होमधेशी जनजाित solidarity भनेको?

न्यु यर्क मा ANTA स्थापना गर्ने व्यक्ित म। िवनोदजीले नमान्दा िवनय शाहलाई न्यु यर्क च्याप्टरकोअध्यक्ष बनाएँ। The infighting of the powerless त्यहाँ पिन भयो। त्यो एउटा सानो पद िवनयलाई यितठुलो status symbol अनुभव भयो, िनहुँ खोज्न शुरु। बोलचाल बन्द। उ त अब िसकागो गइसक्यो। अस्ित एउटानराम्रो दुर्घटनामा परेछ। उसलाई त केही भएन, तर गाडी upside down। थाहा पाएर मैले फोन गरें। त्यसकोभोिल पल्ट फेरी फोन गरें। Let bygones be bygones, let's be friends again भनेको त I am not interested भन्छ।

मैले यो कहानीहरू िकन सुनाएको भन्दा The infighting of the powerless को कन्सेप्ट बुझाउनकालािग। अाफैमा मारामार। नेपालमा मधेशी समुदाय जसरी powerless छ िवश्वमा नेपाली समुदाय त्यसरी नै, अझत्योभन्दा कैयौं गुणा powerless छ।

NRN Movement लाई Chamber of Commerce बाट mass based बनाउनुपर्ने अावश्यकता छ। दुिनयाकोराजधानी न्यु यर्क। अमेिरकामा रहेका डेढ लाख नेपाली मध्ये ४०,००० त न्यु यर्क मेट्रोमा नै छन्।

त्यसकालािग एउटा छाता संगठन बनाउनुपर्ने हुन्छ। छाता संगठन त बनाउँ तर नेता मैं हुन्छु भनेर ताराजीलेिहन्ट िदया िदयै छ, छ मिहना देिख। अरे बाबा, नेता को हुने भन्ने कुरा मैले िनर्णय गर्ने नै होइन। चुनाव हुन्छ। चुनाव लड्नुस्। कसैले नदेखेको राण प्रधानमन्त्री जस्तो एउटा NAC भन्ने संगठन छ, ताराजी चािहं त्यो राणप्रधानमन्त्रीले न्यु यर्ककालािग पठाएको बडाहािकम जस्तो। मान न मान मैं तेरा मेहमान। न कसैले भोटिदनु छ न केही, नेपाली समुदायको नेता मै भन्दै ताराजी िहंड्नुहुन्छ। हुन त to his credit वहाँ America Nepal Friendship Society को duly elected president चािहं हो र त्यो संस्था न्यु यर्को सबैभन्दा ठुलो नेपालीसंस्थाहरू मध्येको एक हो। र Manhattan मा बस्ने high class को मान्छे, पढेलेखेको महाको िवद्वान, Columbia University जस्तो one of the top 10 universities in America मा पढाउने मान्छे लगभगप्रत्येक जसो weekend Queens पुग्िदरा हुन्छ ताराजी अिन Queens को mini Nepal का नेपालीहरू दङ।

मञ्चबाट खगेन्द्रजीले मितर हेरेर भनेको जस्तो लाग्यो, "१९९० मा बाबुराम भट्टराईलाई यहीं न्यु यर्कमाभेटेको हो।" मधेशी अान्दोलनका सबै नेताहरूले मलाई पत्याउँछन्, र नेपाली राजनीितमा दुई जना छन् जसकोलेख कतै अायो िक म पिढहाल्छु, प्रदीप िगरी र बाबुराम। तर म िहंसाको राजनीितमा िवश्वास गर्ने मान्छेचािहं होइन। पिहला पिन िथइनँ, पिछ पिन हुने छैन।

अरू संगठनको नाम शुरुमा भिनयो तर मेरो संगठनको नाम भिनएन। पिछ कुनै संगठनको कोही बोल्न चाहनेइच्छुक हुनुहुन्छ िक भन्दा खेरी मैले उद्घोषकलाई गएर एउटा चीट समाएँ। संगठन: हाम्रो नेपाल, प्रेिसडेन्ट: परमेन्द्र भगत, दुई िमनट पाउँ। नत्र भने वक्ताहरूको िलस्टमा मेरो नाम िथएन।

पिछ मृदुलाजीकोमा िडनर पार्टी भयो। ४०-५० जनालाई नै "करोडपित मृदुला" ले खाना खुवाइन्। "मलाईउपेन्द्र महतोको इमेल ठेगाना पठाइदेउ" भनेर भिनन्। हुन्छ भनें। त्यस पार्टीमा बकाइदा साथ वंशतामाङजीले एक जना सांसदज्युलाई "unbiased पत्रकार" भनेर पिरचय िदनुभयो।

पाखेले मिदसे भन्छ, नेपालीले मधेशी भन्न िसक्छ

मिदसे भनेको हेपेर nigger भनेको हो। त्यो शब्द tip of the iceberg हो। Iceberg त िवकराल छ। सयौंवर्षदेिख िथचेर राखेको, देशको राज्य संयन्त्रबाट बािहर रािखएको, पहाडी शासकहरूको िदल र िदमागमा गिहरोघनाभूत रहेको prejudice, iceberg त त्यो हो। त्यो शब्द एउटा symbol हो।

नेपाली भन्ने पिहचानमा अिहलेसम्म मधेशी समुदाय समािहत नै भएको छैन। पुर्ण समानुपाितक िनर्वाचनकामार्फत बन्ने संिवधान सभा, त्यसमा साधारण बहुमतको सरकार र दुई ितहाइ बहुमतको संिवधान, त्यसपिछबन्ने नया पिहचानमा बल्ल समािहत हुन्छ िक भन्ने िझनो अाशा गर्न सिकन्छ।

नेपाली भन्ने पिहचान पिहलो पटक िनर्माण हुन लागेको छ। तर अिहलेसम्मको नेपाली पिहचान भनेकोनेपालिभत्रैको मधेशीलाई नेपाली नमान्ने तर भारतीय नागिरक प्रशान्त तामाङलाई नेपाली मान्ने िकिसमकोरहेको छ। त्यसलाई नेपालीभाषी भन्नुपर्यो। त्यो एउटा सांस्कृितक पिहचान हो। त्यो कुनै नाजायज पिहचानहोइन। त्यस्तै नेपालका मैिथलीभाषी र भोजपुरीभाषीको पिन बोर्डर पािर सांस्कृितक लगाव रहेको सांस्कृितकलगावलाई शंकाको दृष्िटले हेर्ने पिरपाटी फेिर prejudice को दायरािभत्र पर्छ।

AIMSA (All India Madhesi Student Association) का मधेशीहरूले भन्छन्, भारतमा नेपाली िवद्यार्थीहरूसंगिठत हुँदा मधेशी िवद्यार्थीलाई त्यसमा राख्दैनन्। भारतीय भन्छन्, नेपाली भन्दैनन्। मधेशी भारतीय हुन्भने मधेशीहरूको भारतमै पिन िकन त्यस्तो कमजोर संगठन? लोकतान्त्िरक अान्दोलनका ताका िदल्लीबराबर सम्पर्क गर्दा मलाई भान हुन्थ्यो, िदल्लीमा रहेका नेपाली पिन न्यु यर्कमा जस्तै सब पहिरयाहरू नैरहेछन्।

सबैितरबाट िथचेर रािखएको मधेशी समुदाय अगािड बढ्नकालािग भारत पिन ठुलो मात्रामा जान सकेका छैनन्। मधेशी अान्दोलन सिकएको छैन, जारी छ। यस अान्दोलनको िनकास भनेको पुर्ण समानुपाितकका अाधारमाहुने संिवधान सभाको िनर्वाचन हो।

मधेशी अान्दोलनका नेताहरूले अाफु अाफुमा िनरन्तर वार्ता नगर्ने पिरपाटी उदेकलाग्दो छ। त्यो powerlessness को symptom हो। हाम्रो न्यनतम समझदारी के हुने त? भनेर अाफु अाफुमा छलफल गर्नुपर्यो।

नेपालको राजनीितमा मधेशीहरूको जे स्थान छ, िवश्व राजनीितमा नेपालीहरूको, चाहे त्यो बाहुन क्षेत्री होस्, अथवा जनजाित अथवा मधेशी, त्यही स्थान छ। के अौकात छ कता कसको? कुवाको भ्यागुता भएर बसेका छन् एकसे एक। तर त्यो यथार्थलाई सामना गर्न जुन िकिसमको राजनीितक चेतनाको िवकास हुनुपर्ने, जुन िकिसमको संगठन िवस्तार हुनुपर्ने त्यो गर्ने छाँटकाँट मैले देिखराखेको छैन। अाफ्नो सानो गुम्िसएको mini Nepal बनायो अिन बाहुनवाद, पहाडीवाद गर्दै बस्यो। त्यो शक्ितहीन भइराख्ने चाहना प्रितिवम्िवत भएको हो।

एउटा व्यक्ितको एउटा भन्दा बढी सामुिहक पिहचान हुन्छ। नेपालिभत्र म मधेशी हुँ। तय्सपिछ समग्रमा नेपाली पिहचान अाउँछ। अिन दक्िषण एिसयाली पिहचान अाउँछ। अिन एिसयाली पिहचान अाउँछ। अिन Blac पिहचान अाउँछ। त्यो एउटा राजनीितक पिहचान हो जुन िक िनर्माण गर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ। भारत, दक्िषण अफ्िरका र ब्रािजलले दोस्ती गर्नुपर्ने अाधार त्यही Blac पिहचानका अाधारमा हो। Black, Latino, Asian Caucus भने पिन भयो। Black, Latino, Asian Coalition भने पिन भयो।

हो त्यो Blac Identity claim गर्नु पर्ने ठाउँ न्यु यर्कमा बाहुनहरू बाहुनवादमा िलप्त, पहाडीहरू पहाडीवादमै िलप्त भएको देिखन्छ। त्यो राजनीितक चेतनाको कमी हो।

मलाई भन्नेले भन्छन्, यो मान्छे राजनीित छोडेर िबजनेस गर्न पट्टी लाग्यो भनेर। त्यो साँचो होइन। तपाईहरू यहाँसम्म अाफै पुग्नुस् Proposed Constitution अिन त्यसपिछ गर्नु पर्ने भनेको अार्िथक क्रान्ित नै हो, र त्यसकालािग मेरो कम्पनी अपिरहार्य हुनेछ भनेर मैले नेपालका नेताहरूलाई भन्न खोिजरहेको छु। मधेश र नेपालको लेभलमा होइन म त First World र Third World को लेभलमा सोंिचराखेको छु। First World र Third World को बीचको जुन भयावह खाडल छ, त्यो पुर्ने भनेकै Internet ले हो। मेरो कम्पनी त्यो vision कासाथ अगािड बिढराखेको छ।

नेपालमा दमजमलाई समानता िदएर गैर दमजमलाई बेफाइदा छैन। तर दमजमलाई समानता निदइकन नेपालमा साँचो अर्थमा अार्िथक क्रान्ित संभव छैन। पुराना जातीय, क्षेत्रीय, िलङ्गीय prejudice हरूलाई हामीले थाती लगाउन सक्नुपर्छ। अिन नया win win situation तर्फ लम्कनुपर्छ। अार्िथक क्रान्ित भनेको त्यही win win situation हो।

नेपालका राजनीितक समस्याहरूको समाधान, र प्रवासी नेपालीहरूको समस्याहरूको समाधान पिन one person one vote मेकािनज्ममा छ।

मेरो कम्पनी बाहेक मैले बराक अोबामाको क्याम्पेनलाई पिन समय िदइराखेको छु। राजेन्द्र महतोजीलाई मैले न्य यर्कमा भनेको िथएँ, "हम तो देिखए नेपालमें भी मधेशी, अमेरीकामें भी मधेशी।" बराक अमेरीकाको राष्ट्रपित हुनु भनेको िवश्व राजनीितकालािग ठुलो मायने राख्दछ। िवश्व राजनीित र अर्थनीितमा नेपाल र भारत जस्ता गरीब मुलुकहरूलाई पाइक नपर्ने थुप्रै कुराहरू छन्। त्यसलाई सामना गर्ने मान्छे पिन त चािहयो।

मुख्य कुरा positive impact गर्ने हो। शारीिरक रूपले को कहाँ छ त्यो अाजको globalization र internet को जमानामा खासै फरक पर्दैन।

पाखेले मिदसे भन्छ, नेपालीले मधेशी भन्न िसक्छ।
