सीके राउतको कार्यकर्ता देखे पछि तर्सिए उपेन्द्र यादव

कार्यक्रममा सीके राउतको कार्यकर्ताहरुको उपस्थिति देखेर उपेन्द्र यादव तर्सिएका थिए । कार्यक्रम सुरु हुनुभन्दा अगाडि नै उपेन्द्र यादवले आयोजकलाई सीके राउतको कार्यकर्ताहरुलाई कार्यक्रमबाट बाहिर गर्न आग्रह गरेका थिए । आयोजकले यो खुल्ला कार्यक्रम हो भनेर यादवको कुरालाई टालेका थिए । ....... कार्यक्रम अगाडि बढ्दै गयो उपेन्द्र यादवको टाउँको दुखाई बढ्दै गयो । पुनः कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन भइरहँदा उपेन्द्र यादवले अगाडि पट्टि रहेका सीके राउतका कार्यकर्ताहरुलाई पछाडि गएर बस्न आग्रह गर्दै आयोजकलाई अढाए । तर पुनः आयोजकले मानेन् । ..... कार्यक्रममा सहभागी बीरगञ्जका पत्रकारहरुले हुलाकी न्यूजलाई भने,‘सीके राउतको कार्यकर्ताहरुलाई देखेर उपेन्द्र यादव पहिलेदेखि नै तर्सिएका थिए, झन् महेन्द्र यादव र रघुबंश प्रसादले सीके राउतको चर्चा गरेपछि यादव जी रातोनपिरो हुनु भयो ।’ ...... कार्यक्रममा मधेशी मोर्चाका घटक तराई–मधेश सद्भावना पार्टीका अध्यक्ष महेन्द्र यादवले मधेश पहिलेदेखि नै अलग देश रहेको र अहिले नेपालमा मिसिएको बताए । त्यसपछि सीके राउतका कार्यकर्ताहरुले ताली बजाउन सुरु गरे । ...... झन् कार्यक्रमका प्रमुख अतिथि डा.रघुबंश प्रसादले मधेश अलग देश तत्काल माग्ने अवस्था नआएको र केही दिन प्रतिक्षा गर्न भने पछि राउतका कार्यकर्ताहरु हौसिए । यता उपेन्द्र यादवको टाउको दुखाई बढ्दै गएको थियो ।

११ बुँदे मा पुगेर मधेस आंदोलन को सफल विसर्जन भएको अवस्थामा देश एउटा स्वस्थ बाटो मा जाने देखिन्छ। द्रुत गतिको आर्थिक विकास रोक्न नसकिने अवस्था आउन सक्छ।

तीन ध्रुव को उदय हुन सक्छ: एमाले-माओवादी, काँग्रेस, मधेसी-जनजाति-नया शक्ति।

एमाले र माओवादी एक पद एक उम्मेदवार मा जानु, काँग्रेस मा गगन थापा को उदय हुनु, मधेसी जनजाति र नया शक्ति एक पद एक उम्मेदवार मा जानु। मधेसी मोर्चाले मधेसमा काँग्रेस को जरो काटेको अवस्था छ। बाबुराम ले त्यसरी नै एमाले र माओवादी को जरो काटन सक्ने संभावना छ। अहिले नंबर एक स्थान मा भने मधेसी जनजाति र नया शक्ति नै छ। तर लोकतंत्र राम्रो व्यवस्था भएकै लोकतान्त्रिक प्रतिस्प्रधा हुने भएकोले हो। तीन ध्रुव ले सकेसम्म राम्रो गर्ने, सकेसम्म को आतंरिक एकता प्रदर्शन गर्ने, र सकेसम्म स्वस्थ र लोकतान्त्रिक प्रतिस्प्रधा गर्नु मा नै आम जनता लाई फाइदा छ। गगन थापा को उदय मा ढिलाई भए काँग्रेस नंबर तीन मा पुग्छ। तर केंद्र, प्रदेश र स्थानीय गरी तीन तहमा शक्ति बाँडिएको अवस्थामा तीन ध्रुव नै कहीं न कहीं सत्ता मा रहने हुँदा कुनै पनि शक्ति पुर्ण रुपले सत्ता बाहिर रहँदैन। त्यो राम्रो हो।

चौथो ध्रुव: सीके राउत। एक्लै। सीके राउत को मधेस अलग देश को सोंच गलत होइन। अहिंसा को बाटो मा हिडेको कमजोर भएर होइन चतुर भएर हो। हिंसाको बाटो विचलन र पराजय को बाटो हो। तर गंतव्य नै मधेस अलग देश मानेकोले समस्या देखिएको हो। गंतव्य तो लोकतंत्र र समृद्धि हो। मधेस अलग देश त साधन मात्र हो। मधेस अलग देश भन्दा राम्रो त मधेसी ले पहाड़ माथि शासन गर्नु हो। लिच्छवि राज पार्ट दो। तर सीके राउत ले आफैले आफैलाई साँघुरो बनाए जस्तो देखिन्छ। मधेसी हिंदी भाषा र हिन्दु धर्म वाला भारतीय सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रियता को अभिन्न अंग भएको कुरा को आदर सीके राउत ले गरेको देखिएन। बुद्ध लाई मधेसी राष्ट्रियता को केंद्रविंदु मान्दै पहाड़ को बाटो सारा चीन कब्ज़ा गर्ने बाटो पो बाटो। त्यस किसिमको विराट विचार का लागि मधेस अलग देश अंतिम गंतव्य होइन क्षणिक टैक्टिक्स मात्र हुन सक्छ।

मुख्य कुरा त संगठन विस्तार हो। सारा दक्षिण एशिया को ली कुऑन यु भनेको मोदी हो। मोदी को उदय भैसक्यो। मोदी ले २० वर्ष शासन गर्छ। मोदी हाथी को खुट्टा मा मधेसको डूङ्गा बाँध्नु नै उत्तम उपाय हो। मधेस अलग देश को विचार मोदीको विचार सँग मेल खाए जस्तो मलाई लाग्दैन।

मधेस अलग देश मा पनि जान सक्ने तर त्यस सम्म को प्रत्येक आंदोलन र प्रत्येक चुनाव मा सक्रिय रुपले सहभागी हुने ------ सीके राउत को बाटो शायद त्यो हो। सीके राउत ले tactical flexibility देखाउने हो भने झापा देखि कंचनपुर सम्म मधेसी मोर्चा ले एकक्षत्र स्वीप दिन्छ। पहाड़मा गगन र बाबुराम को भन्दा मधेसमा सीके राउत को अपील कैयौं गुणा बढ़ी छ। अहिलेसम्म एउटा पनि चुनाव नलडेको, एक पटक पनि सत्ता मा नपुगेको, १००% क्लीन इमेज, विश्व स्तरको शैक्षिक पृष्ठभूमि, सालाना करोड़ों को तलब त्याग गरेको, वैज्ञानिक मान्छे। बिभिन्न कारणले सीके राउत ले मधेस को imagination capture गरेको अवस्था छ। तर tactical flexibility को अभावमा त्यसको पुर्ण फाइदा मधेसी कॉज ले पाएको छैन।

मधेसीको सशक्तिकरण का लागि मधेस अलग देश ठुलो कि मधेसी ले सारा देश माथि शासन गरेको ठुलो? कि मधेस चीन भरि छाएको ठुलो। वर्ष को २०० डॉलर कमाइ राखेको मधेसी का लागि १,००० डॉलर ठुलो हो तर हजार ठुलो कि १०,००० ठुलो। हजार मा गएर किन अड्किने? १०,००० या ५०,००० को लक्ष्य किन नराख्ने?

दिल्ली ले मधेस आंदोलन को साथ दिएको अवस्थामा, मधेस जागिसकेको अवस्थामा मधेस अलग देश सानो लक्ष्य भयो। सारा देश कब्ज़ा गर्ने लक्ष्य हुनुपर्छ। अहिलेको मधेस आंदोलन लाई पार लगाउन सक्ने निर्णायक व्यक्ति सीके हो। जब तक मानव अधिकार का घोषणपत्र रहेगा तब तक मधेस अलग देश की संभावना बनी रहेगी लेकिन अभी के समय में मधेसी मोर्चा के ११ बुँदे को मानते हुवे भन्दै आफ्नो संगठन लाई पनि अहिले कै आंदोलन मा एकाकार गराउनु पर्छ।

नेपाल भारत भुटान बंगलादेश आर्थिक एकीकरण को बाटो मा हिडिसकेको अवस्थामा मधेस अलग देश को बाटो नदीको पानी उल्टो दिशामा लाने प्रयास जस्तो देखिन्छ। मधेस अलग देश को लक्ष्य लाई माओवादी को समाजवाद जस्तो टाढाको लक्ष्य बनाउनु नै श्रेयस्कर छ। होइन भने सीके ले आफुलाई अनुपलब्ध बनाए जस्तो देखिन्छ। मधेसी जनता लाई सीके चाहिएको आज, सीके ले चाहिँ म आज उपलब्ध छैन भने जस्तो देखियो।

हिन्दी भाषा, हिन्दु धर्म, भारतीय सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रियता, मधेस, मधेसी और नेपाल

प्रत्येक भारतीय नागरिक हिन्दु नहीं हैं। और दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा लोकतंत्र भारत। सभी भारतीय नागरिक कानुन के नजर में बराबर हैं। लेकिन एक सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रियता है, एक भारतीय सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रियता जिसके केंद्रविंदु में हिन्दी भाषा और हिन्दु धर्म है। तमिल या मराठी बोल्ने वाले भी भारतीय नागरिक हैं। ऐसा नहीं कि बगैर हिंदी बोले भारतीय हो नहीं सकते। लेकिन मधेसी तो भारतीय नागरिक नहीं हैं। लेकिन वो जो भारतीय सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रियता है जिसके केंद्रविंदु में हिन्दी भाषा और हिन्दु धर्म है, मधेसी उसके अभिन्न अंग हैं। लेकिन सभी मधेसी हिन्दु नहीं। बहुत मुसलमान हैं। बुद्ध मधेसी थे। मधेस चीन, सारे चीन, पर कब्ज़ा करेगा। बुद्ध धर्म के रास्ते। लेकिन बहुत कम मधेसी बुद्धिस्ट हैं। आज। लेकिन मधेसी राष्ट्रियता का बहुत बड़ा हिस्सा बुद्ध का है।

हिन्दी भाषा, हिन्दु धर्म, भारतीय सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रियता, मधेस, मधेसी और नेपाल। हिंदी भाषा पर आक्रमण निरंतर ढाई सौ साल से चला आ रहा है। इस मधेस आंदोलन का एक प्रमुख मांग है कि अब नेपाल में नेपाली भाषा और हिंदी भाषा दोनों बराबरी के ओहदे पर रहेंगे। भारत के संसद में हिंदी और अंग्रेजी दोनों में काम होता है। अब नेपालके संसद में नेपाली और हिंदी दोनों में काम होगा।

विद्या जुता पहन के जानकी मंदिर के भितर तक पहुँच गयी। मधेसी हो या पहाड़ी कोई हिन्दु वो कर ही नहीं सकता है। विद्या हिन्दु नहीं सनातनी हैं। जिस तरह रावण सनातनी था।

तो जब बात हिंदी भाषा और हिन्दु धर्म का हो, तो ये लड़ाई मेरा कब से हो गया? ये तो मोदी का लड़ाई है। मोदी लड़े अपना। बहुत जल्द मेरा प्रमुख फोकस होगा अमरिका। यहाँ बाजार गर्म हो रहा है।

मोदीको काठमाण्डु मा सनातनी दुश्मन

यदि चीन र भारत बीच अमेरिका सोवियत संघ को जस्तो शीत युद्ध चलेको हुँदो हो त अहिलेसम्म नेपाल ख़ुशी ख़ुशी उत्तर कोरिया बनिसकेको हुने। यदि अमेरिका को अथवा बेलायत को भारत सँग दुश्मनी हुँदो हो त नेपाल भारत को विरुद्ध प्रयोग हुने ख़ुशी ख़ुशी। भारत बलियो छ। दुनियाको तेस्रो ठूलो अर्थतंत्र हो। कमजोर हुँदो हो त? चीन, अमेरिका, बेलायत कसैले साथ नदिएर मात्र हो। शक्ति संतुलन आफ्नो पक्ष मा नपाएर हो। होइन भने मोदी को इमेज ख़राब गर्न जति प्रयास काठमाण्डु का बाहुन क्षेत्री ले गरेका छन त्यति दुनियाको कुनै शक्ति ले गरेको छैन। न नवाज न कोही। नवाज ले त रत्ति प्रयास गरेको छैन। मोदी को दुनिया मा कहीं पनि दुश्मन छैन अहिले, ,काठमाण्डु मा बाहेक। यो के भएको? र यो मधेस आंदोलन भन्दा अगाडि देखि हो। मोदी को जनकपुर भ्रमण मा बाँझो हाल्ने यिनै हुन। न्यु यॉर्क सेंट्रल पार्क मा लाखौं अमेरिकी लाई सम्बोधन गर्दा मोदीले अमेरिका को राष्ट्रियता माथि कुनै धक्का पुगेन। चीन मा त्यस्तै आम सभा गरेको। लंदन, ऑस्ट्रेलिया। तर मोदीले जनकपुर मा आम सभा सम्बोधन गर्न नपाउने निर्णय गरियो। किन? जनकपुर वासी लालायित थिए। मोदी आउन भन्ने ठुलो अभिलाषा थियो।

मोदी को व्यवहार ले त होइन यो। मेरो जीवन काल मा नेपाल को यति सार्हो हित चाहेको भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री मैले देखेको छैन। उ वास्तवमा नेपाल सँग एउटा नया शुरुवात गर्न चाहन्थ्यो र अझ पनि चाहन्छ। मलाई त लागेको भारत का मतदाता ले त कष्ट गर्नु परेको। लाइन लागेर वोट दिनु परेको। नेपालका मतदाता ले मोदी सिततैमा पाउने भए जस्तो लाग्यो। एक वर्ष मा दुई पटक भ्रमण। शुरू मा एक बिलियन डॉलर लोन। जुन न सुशील ले छोयो न ओली ले। नेपाल को समस्या पैसा नहुनु होइन रहेछ। देशको प्रधान मंत्री हरुको व्यवहार ले त्यही देखाएको छ। भुकम्प पछि सुशील ले भन्दा चाडो र बढ़ी मोदीले गरे। तर जनकपुर भ्रमण मा बाँझो हाले जस्तै त्यहाँ पनि भारत विरोधी भावना ले ठाउँ लियो। यो के भएको?

यसको जवाफ एउटै छ। गांधी ले भारत को भूभाग मा काम फत्ते गरे। तर त्यसलाई विश्वव्यापी बनाउनु पर्ने छ। आखिर कुनै भारतीय लाई बराबरी को अनुभुति भारत भित्र मात्र हुनुपर्छ भन्ने के छ? भारत बाहिर पनि बराबरी को अनुभुति हुनुपर्छ भन्ने संघर्ष अहिले बाँकी नै छ। त्यसको शुरुवात नेपाल नै हो। त्यो काठमाण्डु को यथार्थ हो।


मोदीको काठमाण्डु मा सनातनी दुश्मन छन। रामको चाहिँ लंका मा थियो। मोदी को काठमाण्डु मा छ। 

केजरीवाल, मोदी और दिल्ली

केजरीवाल जब पहली बार दिल्ली का मुख्य मंत्री बने उससे पहले मेरे राडार पर वो नहीं थे। लेकिन जब वो आए, I have to admit, it was a breath of fresh air. ये जो दुसरी बार जिते हैं, तो क्लियर मैंडेट है। स्मार्ट हैं, मेहनती हैं, साधारण पृष्ठभूमि के हैं, एक क्लीन इमेज है। दिल्ली के लिए एजेंडा भी अच्छा है।

लेकिन वो बार बार शिकायत करते आए हैं कि मैंने चुनाव जिता लेकिन मोदी काम नहीं करने दे रहे हैं। तो I have taken that with a grain of salt. मोदी के rear view mirror में केजरीवाल दिखते होंगे ऐसा नहीं लगता। एक बात होता है कि बड़ा आदमी से लफड़ा लो और अपना कद बढ़ाओ। Which is cheap.

तथ्य आखिर है क्या? मोदी तंग कर रहे हैं। ये बात मेरे को मानने को मन नहीं कर रहा था। या तो मोदी का मेरा जो इमेज है गलत है या वो केजरी को तंग नहीं कर रहे। तो बात क्या है आखिर?

तो आज मेरे को जवाब मिल गया। नया साल मुबारक। मोदी को भी केजरी को भी।

मेरे समझ में यहाँ क्या हो रहा है कि मोदी केजरी को तंग नहीं कर रहे। हो ये रहा है कि केजरी ये नहीं समझ रहे कि दिल्ली के पास statehood नहीं है। दिल्ली तो केंद्र शासित क्षेत्र है। तो केंद्र सरकार का मैंडेट तो मोदी को मिला हुवा है। पटना में नीतिश जो हैं या लखनऊ में अखिलेश दिल्ली में केजरी वो नहीं हैं।

दिल्ली को राज्य का दर्जा मिलना चाहिए कि नहीं? मिलना चाहिए तो रोडमैप क्या है?  वो तो बाद की बात है। या तो केजरी को एक रोडमैप प्रस्तुत करना होगा। कि मैं मानता हुँ दिल्ली को राज्य का दर्जा मिलना चाहिए और उसका नेतृत्व मैं करूँगा। तो वो एक रास्ता हुवा। दिल्ली के राज्य के दर्जा के बारे में मेरे को मालुम नहीं। मैंने अध्ययन नहीं किया है।  तो मैं मुद्दे पर न्यूट्रल भी हुँ और अगर केजरी ये बीड़ा उठाना चाहें तो रोडमैप क्या हो सकता है उस पर मैं आर्यभट का शुन्य हुँ। I don't know.

लेकिन अभी तक जो हल्ला करते आए हैं केजरी ये मोदी के प्रति unfair है और केजरी को अपरिपक्व दिखाता है। मोदी का केजरी के साथ न कोई पर्सनालिटी क्लैश है न कोई प्रतिस्प्रधा है। And it would be out of character for Modi to harass Kejri. मेरे समझ में हो क्या रहा है कि केजरी ये नहीं समझ रहे हैं कि दिल्ली केजरी शासित क्षेत्र नहीं है, संविधान जैसा बतला रहा है। दिल्ली केंद्र शासित क्षेत्र है। तो अपना jurisdiction समझने का प्रयास करें। मोदी ट्विटर पर जा के रोना धोना करें कि देखो इतना बड़ा मैंडेट ले के आया मैं लेकिन सी जिनपिंग मेरे को चिनिया सेना का बागडोर सम्हालने नहीं दे रहा है तो कैसा लगेगा? अरे यार चीन आप का jurisdiction नहीं।

कुछ होता है ग्रे जोन। ये केजरी के क्षेत्राधिकार में है कि केंद्र के स्पष्ट नहीं होता। तो वहाँ दोनों प्रतिस्प्रधा करेंगे कि मेरा है मेरा है, वो तो स्वाभाविक है।

केजरी को एक प्रॉपर चीफ मिनिस्टर बनना है तो जाओ पंजाब जाओ। सुनते हैं वहां भी आप का अच्छा है। या दिल्ली को राज्य का दर्जा दिलाने का रोडमैप लाओ और जनता के पास जाओ। बीजेपी ने तो स्पष्ट कह ही दिया नहीं। कि हम नहीं चाहते दिल्ली अलग राज्य हो।

सबसे प्रमुख बात है मोदी पर बार बार जो घटिया और बहुत ही पर्सनल किस्म के अटैक जो हो रहे हैं उससे भारत के छवि पर असर पर रहा है। मैंने हाल ही में वाशिंगटन पोस्ट में एक आर्टिकल पढ़ा जिसमें केजरी को क्वोट किया गया है, कि मोदी psychopath हैं। ये तो लोकतंत्र की भाषा नहीं। भारत के छवि पर असर पड़ता है। और वैसे भी मोदी की कोई गलती मैं देख नहीं रहा। CBI ने खुद एक्शन लिया। गलत लिया तो वकील हायर करो। राजनीतिक मुद्दा है तो राजनीतिक भाषा बोलो।

Kejriwal is promising, but he should not punch above his weight, especially in unfair ways. और वैसे भी economic growth के मुद्दे पर केजरी कुछ नहीं मोदी के सामने। न विज़न देख रहा हुँ न एक्शन।

नया नेपाली प्रधान मंत्री पहिला भारत भ्रमण जानु पर्ने कारण के हो?

Geopolitics ---- भूराजनीति। Physics मा gravity जस्तो हो, राजनीति मा geopolitics त्यस्तै त्यस्तै हो। किनभने हामी जसलाई राजनीति भन्ने गर्छौं त्यो आखिर यो एउटा ग्रह को surface मा हुने गरेको कुरा हो। हामी Gravity भने पछि उत्तेजित हुन्छौं कि त्यसलाई प्रकृति को एउटा नियम भनेर स्वीकार गर्छौं र बरु त्यसको सदुपयोग गर्ने प्रयास गर्छौं? Satellite प्रयोग नगर्ने आज एउटा देश छैन। त्यो Newton ले gravity को नियम को गणित नदिएको भए संभव हुने थिएन।

भारत ले पनि चीन, रूस, अमेरिका सबै को Geopolitics मनन गर्दै अगाडि बढ्नु पर्ने हुन्छ। No country is too big to not take into account geopolitics. Just like no object is too big to not take into account the law of gravity. पृथ्वी ले चन्द्रमा तान्छ भने चन्द्रमा ले पनि पृथ्वी तान्छ। समुद्र मा त्यत्रो ज्वारभाटा हरु आइरहेको हुन्छ। म बसेको ठाउँ नजिक एउटा नदी छ। कहिले पानी उत्तर बाट दक्षिण बग्छ कहिले त्यसै नदी मा दक्षिण बाट उत्तर। चन्द्रमा ले तानेको।

भारत र नेपाल बीच साइज को कुरा मात्र होइन। साइज हो तर नेपाल भु होइन भारत परिवेष्टित छ। यहाँ सम्म कि नेपाल बाट चीन पुग्ने सबैभन्दा राम्रो बाटो पनि भारतको बाटो हो। जनकपुर-पटना-कोलकाता-कुन्मिंग। भने पछि नेपाल को तीन तिर होइन चार तिर नै भारत छ भने पनि हुन्छ। त्यो भुगोल हो। बदल्न नसकिने। You can pick your friends, but not your neighbors. But what if your neighbor is your best friend? How is that a bad situation?

बिलियन डॉलर न सुशील ने छुवा न ओली ने। ये छोटी बात नहीं है। ये कैसे लोग हैं जो नेपाली जनता और मोदी के बिलियन  डॉलर के बीच खड़ा होना अपना धर्म समझते हैं? 

मोदी ने उतने मेहनत से इमेज बनायी। दुनिया भर गए। अमेरिका और चीन को मात कर दिया FDI में। लेकिन वो देश जो कहता है जिसे भारत कहता है हमारा सबसे करीबी वो मोदी का इमेज ख़राब करने के लिए जीजान से लगा है। क्या वजह है? मोदी का इमेज ख़राब करने का इससे बड़ा प्रयास कहीं हुवा ही नहीं है।

Four billion dollars is a lot of money. Fuck, it is a lot of money for fucking Bill Gates. It simply is a lot of money, no matter how you see it. A billion is a lot of money for India to give. Modi lost Bihar because he gave a billion dollars to Nepal and the Biharis found out. All those school buildings they so desperately need. That is a world class school for every district in Bihar, gone down the Ganges. Four billion is a lot of fucking money.

And the donors are the sharpest minds in Delhi, in Brussels, in DC. They are scratching their heads. To them it is simple. A line is the shortest distance from point A to point B. There’s the earthquake, there are the earthquake victims, and here is the help they desperately need. This money will not make the earthquake victims rich, but it will tide them over. Maybe they will not die in the cold. So let’s move.

These monkey power brokers in Kathmandu are not dumb. If they are dumb, how are they managing to outsmart the smartest people in Delhi, in Beijing, in Brussels, in DC? They know exactly what they are doing. It is the donors that are confused. It is the donors that are in denial. If the donors were to make peace with the fact that half the money, or maybe two thirds of the money, will go to these monkeys instead of those hapless earthquake victims, then there would be no starvation and pneumonia in the Himalayas right now. So, now, you tell me, who is starving the earthquake victims? The donors? Or the monkeys?

Why do you need a new, separate government mechanism to funnel the aid? We already have a government in place. That is what the monkeys are saying. But the donors are not listening. It is the donors’ fault that they are not listening. The donors are responsible for the fact these people are dying up there in the Himalayas. Let me explain, they say. Or maybe I have already explained. You think we can’t get our act together and pass a simple bill? We passed an entire constitution in record time, and you think we can’t pass a bill? A simple, fucking bill?

You have to give it to them. Fidel Castro stood up only to America. But these monkeys are standing up to the entire fucking world. Fuck China, fuck India, fuck Europe, the fuck with America.

Now you get to appreciate what the Madhesis are up against. If only the Madhesis understood that all they have to do is accept this constitution the monkeys have written, there would be no fuss. No one gets hurt. So if people are getting shot, whose fault is it really? Who is the one not accepting the constitution? That is how their mind circuit works.

If the sharpest minds in Delhi, Beijing, Brussels and DC can’t cut through this mind circuit, they should at least have some empathy for the Madhesis as to what they are up against.

Go read the Ramayana. You will meet plenty of these same monkeys in the Ramayana. Evolution needs time. Give it to them.

The Delhi, Beijing, Brussels, DC people will not dwell upon Nepal for long. They will go back to other business in due course of time. They have plenty to do. But the Madhesis are stuck with these monkeys. They don’t have the luxury to move on. And so the idea now is to shift the national capital to Birgunj and leave the Pashupatinath Temple for exclusive use by these monkeys.

तो नेपाल में होता ऐसा क्यों है? विकास का नंबर वन बाधक यही बात है। देश गरीब रह जाता है। कहने वाले कहते हैं शिक्षा का लेवल low है, जनता शिक्षित हो जाए तो जागरूकता आएगी। गलत। ये भ्रष्टाचार के कारण ऐसा होता है। इतना ज्यादा भ्रष्टाचार है नेपालमे। इतना ज्यादा। नेता लोग पैसा डकार जाते हैं और भारत को गाली बोलते रहते हैं। जब तक जनता का ध्यान भारत पर है वो भ्रष्टाचार  में हिसाबकिताब मांगेंगे नहीं। वो बात है। It is about corruption. जनता पढ़ीलिखि न हो लेकिन नेता लोग तो पढ़े लिखे हैं। बहुत ज्यादा पढेलिखे ना हो लेकिन अभी का ओली भी और उससे पहले का सुशील भी, दोनों मैट्रिक पास।

नेता ईमानदार होते तो समझाते। लोगों को समझाते। कहते देखो विकास के लिए ये डैम बनना जरुरी है। देश में बहुत गरीबी है, बच्चे भुखे हैं।

अभी जो यकायक कहाँ से न कहाँ से नेपाल में एक anti-corruption आँधी आ गयी है, that has been very necessary. तो ये आया कहाँ से? जो anti-corruption body है उसमें प्रावधान सदैब रहा है कि आम जनता किसी भी नेता या कर्मचारी के विरुद्ध याचिका दायर कर सकते हैं। तो investigation होगा। तो जनता शिकायत कर रहे हैं। उन्हें अब लग रहा है सब के सब भ्रष्ट हैं। They are being able to see through the anti-India rhetoric by their politicians. भारत के राज्य सभा में जो बहस हुवा नेपाल पर वो नेपाल में लाइव प्रसारण हुवा। तो लोगों को अब लग रहा है की नाकाबंदी भारत ने नहीं की। कुकिंग गैस ना होना भारत के बदमाशी के कारण नहीं। They are connecting the dots. And they are saying the anti-India rhetoric has been designed to distract the people from corruption. लोग जग रहे हैं अच्छी बात है।

बिहारमा भर्खरै सम्पन्न विधानसभा चुनावका बेला हरेक ठाउँका भाषणमा भारतीय प्रधानमन्त्री नरेन्द्र मोदीले नेपालबाट पानी ल्याएर बिहार हराभरा गर्ने आश्वासन वितरण गरेका थिए । त्यसो त, नेपालको पानी बगेर जाने भारत नै हो ।

...... वर्षाका बेला बाढीले नेपाल मात्र होइन, भारतलाई पनि डुबाउने गरेको छ भने हिउँदमा पानीको अभावमा जमिनहरु सुखा रहने गरेको छ । त्यहीकारण भारतले ‘उच्च–बाँध’ निर्माण गरेर ‘नियन्त्रित पानी’ (रेगुलेटेड वाटर) उपयोग गर्ने दीर्घकालीन रणनीतिमा छ । उसले नियन्त्रित पानी लैजाने क्रममा नेपालको धेरै पहाडी भू–भाग डुबानमा पर्छन् । ......

...... सम्झौतापूर्व भारतबाट प्रस्तावित ‘इन्जिनियरिङ’को विकल्प नेपालले दिन सकेनन् । नेपालले आफूलाई बढी हित हुने विकल्प दिन नसक्दा उसकै प्रस्तावले मूर्त रुप पाएको हो । ...... तत्कालीन नहर तथा विद्युत् मन्त्रालय सचिव लक्ष्मणप्रसाद रिमालले लेखेका छन्, ‘अघिल्लो दिन हामीले स्पष्ट रुपमा कोशी ब्यारेज नेपालले भारतलाई ९९ वर्षका लागि लिजमा दिनेछ भनी टुंग्याएका थियौं । भारतीय पक्ष १९९ वर्षका लागि लिन चाहन्थ्यो । ९९ वर्षमा नै सहमति भएको थियो । तर धेरै पछि औपचारिक सम्झौतापत्रमा ‘१९९ वर्ष’ परेको देखियो । म एकदम हतप्रभ भएँ ।’ यसले पनि देखाउँछ कि भारतीयहरु यो हदसम्म तल झर्न तयार हुन्छन् । ....... कोशी योजनाप्रति कांग्रेस सभापति

........ २०१६ मंसिर १९ मा गण्डक सिंचाई तथा विद्युत् योजना सम्झौता हुन पुग्यो । सम्झौताबारे संसदमा खास बहस नगरिएपछि विपक्षीहरु सशंकित हुन पुगेका थिए । ‘असमान गण्डक सम्झौता राष्ट्रको निम्ति कलंक हो’ भन्ने नारा लाग्यो । २०१६ पुसमा दाङ–देउखुरी डुबाउने गरी भारतले ‘जलकुन्डी’ निर्माण गर्ने विषयले राजनीति तताएको थियो । भारतले बाँध निर्माणका विषयमा अध्ययन गर्न भवनहरु निर्माण शुरु गरेपछि स्थानीय वासिन्दा आक्रोशित हुन पुगेका थिए । त्यहाँ भारतीय कर्मचारीहरुले मौसम अध्ययनका साथै धमाधम बाटो निर्माणको क्रम शुरु गरेका थिए । भारतीयहरुले हरेक नदीको पानीको हैसियत बुझ्न सर्भे लाइसेन्स बोकेर बसेका थिए । तिनीहरुले त्यही आधारमा उच्च बाँध निर्माणका सर्भेक्षण अघि बढाएका हुन् । ...... संसदीय संरचनामा अप्ठ्यारो र अस्थीर शासनको मौका छोपी २०५३ असोज ४ मा महाकाली सन्धि हुन पुग्यो । त्यो सन्धिका बखत ‘अब सूर्य पूर्वबाट होइन, पश्चिमबाट उदाउनेछ, लोडसेडिङ होइन, पात–पातमा बत्ती बल्नेछ’ भन्ने नारा लगाए, तत्कालीन जलस्रोतमन्त्री पशुपति शमशेर राणाले । सम्झौतापछि भारतले शारदा ब्यारेजलाई बैधानिकता दियो, नेपालले कुनै प्रतिफल प्राप्त गर्न सकेन ।

त्रिभुवन ले नेहरू लाई ऑफर नै गरेको, हुन त त्यति बेला सरदार पटेल ले त्रिभुवन जस्ता राजा रजौटा लाई मास्दै बृहत भारत बनाई नै राखेका थिए। त्रिभुवन ले नेपाल लाई भारत मा नै मिसाउ भनेर भनेको। नेहरुले हुन्न भनेको। किन भने नेह्ररुले जानुन।

हुन त महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद बड़ा कड़ा किसिमको आइडियोलॉजी जस्तो लाग्छ मलाई। भन्ने बेला मा बीपी, पुष्पलाल को चेला भन्ने तर नीति मानने महेंद्र को। अहिले को नेपालको राजनीति मा बीपी को कम महेन्द्रको बढ़ी प्रभाव छ। इंदिरा गांधी ले राजतन्त्र मासदिन्छु भनेर बीपी लाई ऑफर नै गरेको। बीपी भागाभाग। बरु नेपालमा जेल बस्छु भन्दै राष्ट्रिय मेलमिलाप भन्दै नेपाल पसेका। यानि कि महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद का अनुयायी खुद बीपी देखिए।

अहिले मधेस आंदोलन ले सामना गरिरहेको त्यही महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद हो, एक राजा, एक देश, एक भाषा, एक भेष, एक धर्म, एक जात, एक सोंच। गजब छ। यो फ़ासिस्ट राष्ट्रवाद हो। हिटलर र मुसोलिनी को चरम राष्ट्रवाद जस्तो राष्ट्रवाद हो महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद। त्यसको सामना मधेस आंदोलन ले गरिरहेको छ। भारत माथि २००% निर्भर देश को मियो नै भारत लाई गाली गर्नु रहेको छ। त्यो इंडोफोबिआ बिना महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद नै छैन। त्यो इंडोफोबिआ हटाएर भारत सँग स्वस्थ सम्बन्ध निर्माण हुन्छ भने महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद सदा का लागि परास्त हुन्छ। अनि बल्ल देश विकासको बाटो मा हिड्न थाल्छ। काठमाण्डु को central guiding principle को रुपमा जब Indophobia रहन्न अनि बल्ल भारत सँग स्वस्थ सम्बन्ध को बाटो खुल्छ। नेपालमा राष्ट्रियता को नया परिभाषा आउँछ। नेपाली नागरिकता को नया परिभाषा आउँछ। नेपाली नागरिक भनेको नेपालको संविधान सँग राजनीतिक सम्बन्ध भएको व्यक्ति भनेर नया परिभाषा आउँछ। नेपाली नागरिक भनेको लोकतंत्र, मानव अधिकार, गणतंत्र, संघीयता र समावेशीता समेटेको नेपालको संविधान सँग राजनीतिक सम्बन्ध भएको व्यक्ति भनेर नया परिभाषा आउँछ। अर्थात मानव अधिकार नबुझिकन देशप्रेमी बन्नै नसकिने हुन्छ। त्यो नया राष्ट्रवाद महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद नहुने मात्र होइन कि महेंद्र सामंती भिल्लेन थियो भन्ने परिभाषा भएको हुनेछ। अर्थात महेंद्र लाई गाली गर्ने, गलत ठहरयाउने किसिमको राष्ट्रवाद हुन्छ। ताज्जुब छ हामी अझ पनि महेंद्र का विरुद्ध लड्दैछौं।

कोशी मा भारत ले ठग्यो, गण्डकी मा भारतले ठग्यो भन्छन। ठगेको हुन सक्छ। मसँग प्राविधिक ज्ञान छैन। मैले कोशी गण्डकी परियोजना हरु बारे अध्ययन गरेको छैन। तर मोदीले कोशी मा एउटा नया बाँध बांधने चतरा मा, अनि त्यो पानी पुर्वी तराई पूरै सिंचाई गर्दै गंडक मा लगेर खसाल्ने भनेर योजना ल्याएका छन। भने पछि मोदी को पुतला जलाउने काठमाण्डु मा --- तिनी हरु मधेसका दोस्त कि दुश्मन? मोदी लाई कसैले भने, १९५० सन्धि। मोदीले भने, १९५० मात्र किन जुन सुकै र प्रत्येक संधि म पुनर्लेखन गर्न तैयार छु। अर्थात गण्डकी अर्को १०० वर्ष का लागि नेपालको हात बाट गयो भन्ने हरु झुठ बोल्दैछन्। मोदी गण्डकी बारे मात्र होइन प्रत्येक नदी बारे विचार गर्न तैयार छ। भने पछि मोदी को पुतला जलाउने काठमाण्डु मा --- तिनी हरु मधेसका दोस्त कि दुश्मन?

कोशी ब्यारेज जहाँ छ त्यहाँ किन बनाइयो? चुरिया छेउ किन बनाइयेन? यो प्रश्न को जवाफ म सँग छैन। तर अहिले बनेको हो र? आधा शताब्दी अगाडि बनेको। मेरो अनुमान के छ भन्दा त्यति बेला का भारतीय इंजीनियर हरुले आफूलाई सजिलो हुने किसिमले बनाए। त्यहाँ बॉर्डर छेउमा आफ्ना उपकरण हरु लान सजिलो। तराई का किसान हरुको चिंता तिनलाई भएन। ठीक छ। अब नया डैम बनाऊ चतरामा। जहाँ कोशी ले चुरिया काट्छ त्यहाँ डैम बनाउने हो भने डैम त्यति चौड़ा पनि हुनु परेन। अग्लो हुन सक्छ। बिजली पनि उत्पादन हुन्छ। झापा देखि बारा पर्सा सम्म को प्रत्येक खेत मा सिंचाई पुग्छ। यो कोशी बिहार को येलो रिवर नै हो। रुलाउने।

नेपालको प्रत्येक नदी नेपाल र भारत को साझा नदी हो। त्यो यथार्थ हो। दुबै लाई फाइदा हुने किसिमले जल विकास गर्नु पर्यो। नेपालको नदी को पानी भारतीय ले किन खायो भन्नु को अर्थ के? आफ्नो नदीको पानी, खानु कि नुहाउनु, तिम्रो किन टाउको दुख्यो?  पारदर्शी किसिमले आम जनताले पनि व्यापक छलफल गर्ने गरी, विश्व का अरु ठाउँमा यसै परिवेश मा के कस्ता संधि समझदारी भए भन्ने अध्ययन गर्दै अनि नेपालको प्रत्येक नदी को जलविद्युत देखि सिंचाई देखि खानेपानी माछापालन पर्यटन जैविक विविधता संरक्षण आदि इत्यादि सबै पक्ष बारे अध्ययन र विचार विमर्श गर्दै महेंद्र राष्ट्रवाद ले खड़ा गरेको नेपाल भारत बीचको trust deficit मधेस आंदोलन नामको डायनामाइट ले पड़काएर नेपाल र भारत दुबै देशका जनता को हित हुने र जीवनस्तर उकासिने किसिमले अगाडि बढ्नुपर्छ। नेपालभित्र हुने चरम भरष्टाचार ढाकछोप गर्न भारत लाई गाली गर्ने दिन गए।

सार्वभौमसत्ता जनतामा हुनु

जुन देशमा सार्वभौमसत्ता जनतामा हुँदैन त्यस देशसँग सार्वभौमिकता हुँदै हुँदैन। जनता भनेको रोड़ा ढुङ्गा गिट्टी बालुवा होइन, ईटा ढुङ्गा पहाड़ चट्टान होइन। जनता सँग मानव अधिकार हुन्छ, जनतासँग एक व्यक्ति एक मत हुन्छ। जनता सार्वभौमसत्ता सम्पन्न हुन्छ। र मानव अधिकार व्यक्ति व्यक्ति को हुन्छ। त्यो मानव अधिकार जति सुकै ठुलो बहुमतले खोस्न मिल्दैन। बल प्रयोग गरेर खोस्न मिल्दैन। देशमा शक्ति को एक मात्र स्रोत जनता हो।

कसै लाई पनि नागरिकता विहीन अवस्थामा राख्न पाइँदैन। नेपालमा राखिएको छ। नागरिकता विहीन अवस्थामा राख्नु मानव अधिकार को हनन हो। नेपालमा भएको छ। र त्यो जारी राख्ने प्रपंच संविधानमा भएको छ।

नेपालको जनसंख्या सन १९५० मा ८३ लाख भनेर नेपाल सरकार ले भन्ने गरेको छ। सन १९५८ सम्म मधेसी ले काठमाण्डु जान वीसा लिनुपर्ने देश। भने पछि सन १९५० को जनसंख्या मा मधेसी गनेको हो कि नगनेको हो? ८३ लाख जनसंख्या वार्षिक औसत ३% ले बढेको हो भने त्यो २३ वर्षमा दोब्बर हुन्छ। अर्थात १९७३ मा एक करोड़ ६६ लाख। सन १९९६ मा आएर तीन करोड़ ३३ लाख। सन २०१९ मा ६ करोड़ ६६ लाख।

तर नेपालमा सन १९५० मा ८३ लाख अहिले सन २०१५ मा २ करोड़ ८० लाख क्लेम गरिन्छ। मधेसी लाई सन १९५० मा पनि गनियेन। र त्यस पछि मधेसी को जनसंख्या वृद्धि लाई पनि आत्मसात गरिएन। त्यति मात्र होइन नेपाल पहाड़ बाट भारत गएका मानिसको संख्या भए भन्दा निकै कम देखाउने गरिएको छ। नेपालबाट कामको सिलसिलामा ८० लाख गएको भनिन्छ। त्यो तथ्यांक सत्य हुन सक्दैन। ८० लाख होइन दुई करोड़ गयेको होला।

हामी यस्तो भुलभुलैया किन गर्दैछौं? मधेसी भुमिपुत्र हो मधेसमा। नेपालका शासक वर्ग कहलिने खस १००% भारतीय हुन सबै। नेपाल भारत भुटान बांग्लादेश ले १० वर्ष भित्र आर्थिक एकीकरण गर्ने भनेर कागजमा सही गरेको अवस्था छ। नेपाल भारत को खुला सीमाना अद्वितीय मात्र होइन दुनिया का लागि उदहारण पनि हो। २२ औं शताब्दी सम्म मा दुनिया को प्रत्येक सीमाना नेपाल भारत को जस्तो खुला होस्। भारत पाकिस्तान विभाजन अगाडि बंगाल एक थियो। अहिले जस्तो बीचमा बॉर्डर थिएन। बंगाल भारतको मुटु थियो। हामी दक्षिण एशिया को integration तर्फ बढ्नुपर्ने। नेपालका अहिलेका शासक त्यस बाटोमा तगारो हालेर बसेका छन। उनी हरुको रोग आत्म घृणा को रोग हो। ब्रिटिश ले दिएको रोग हो। ब्रिटिश ले भारतीय लाई आफुले आफैलाई घृणा गर्न सिकायो। होइन भने हिंदी लाई संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ को छैँठो भाषा बनाउन नेपाल सबभन्दा अगाडि हुनुपर्ने। तर नेपालका शासक वर्ग ले हिंदी लाई राजनीतिक घृणा गरेको अवस्था छ।

मधेसी को आंदोलन मधेसी को मात्र होइन। यो विश्व भरि छरिएर रहेका भारतीय को आंदोलन हो। दुनिया को जुन सुकै कुनामा रहेको भए पनि कुनै भारतीयले आफ्नो राजनीतिक अधिकार पाएको छैन भने, उसको मानव अधिकार हनन भएको छ भने त्यो भारत सरकार को चासोको विषय हो। त्यो माउ देश भारतको सरोकार को विषय हो। भारत ले अरुलाई हेप्न चाहेको छैन। तर भारतीय कहीं पनि हेपिएर बस्नु हुँदैन। आफ्नो राजनीतिक समानता को थिचोमिचो कहीं पनि सहनु जरुरी छैन।

आगामी ५०० वर्ष भारतको हो।

Today Indophobia is their central organizing principle in Kathmandu. It is like a Harvard study showing all homophobic people are gay. How do you explain this irrationality? It is easy.
• Nepal is not a democracy. Nepal is proof sham elections, rigged elections don’t a democracy make. The last elections held in Nepal were thoroughly rigged. The state security agencies overwhelmingly dominated by the Khas rigged the elections so as to strengthen the status quo parties.
• Nepal is a corrupt country. 50% of the country’s annual budget is put to personal use by about 50,000 people in the country. It is a country of 30 million. It is relatives of those 50,000 people who are running up and down the street in front of the United Nations today.
• Coming to America is social mobility in Nepal that mostly only the ruling Khas elite can afford. And these “protests” are proof. Similar protests were organized in London when Prime Minister Modi recently visited.
• Even the corrupt, and the unfair, and the prejudiced have a right to hold rallies.
• But this is also, at some level, casteism. Narendra Modi’s lower middle class, and lower caste background is offensive to these ruling Brahmins of Kathmandu. It is amazing how their Brahminic ideology is immune to Modi’s political stature, gifts, amazing goodwill, and sheer power. India is a large, powerful country in South Asia, and Nepal is 200% dependent on India for pretty much everything. But casteist Brahmins of Nepal seem to think he is but a passing fluke. He has not lasted a thousand years like their casteist ideology, and he will be gone in a few years unlike their casteist ideology, or so they think.
• Within weeks of the earthquake striking the hashtag #GoBackIndia started trending on Twitter in Nepal. How do you explain that? After Modi did so much for the earthquake victims. Who is on Twitter in Nepal? Not the masses. The same 50,000 people who put 50% of the country’s budget to personal use are the people on Twitter in Nepal.
• You’d think that after the massive earthquake the politicians of Nepal would set aside all political work to focus on relief work for something like six months. But no. They instead figured out the post-earthquake scenario was actually perfect timing to push a summarily unequal constitution down the country’s throat. The earthquake was a godsend to them. The people were deemed too weak to protest. And they were. As inhuman as that logic sounds, that is what happened. The ruling politicians immediately started acting like the earthquake did not even happen. These people were not in shock. They really are that unfeeling.
• The international community has pledged four billion dollars in aid for the earthquake victims. That was months ago. India’s pledge is fully 25% of that offer. And they are still managing to blame Modi for the fact that that money has amazingly gone untouched. Untouched! How do you explain that? The way corruption works in Nepal is, they wait until the last minute to spend the money. And once the deadline looms, as it does in this case at the end of the year, the money then is spent in a hurry. Because in that chaos looting becomes so much easier. There are no plans to take those four billion dollars to the earthquake victims. But there are massive schemes by those 50,000 people to loot the four billion dollars. That has been their bread and butter for decades. Nothing new is going on.
• The earthquake victims really do face a brutal winter. But the blame is being placed in the wrong place.
• The earthquake victims are being held hostage by the ruling elite in Nepal. The earthquake victims are Janajatis who have been marginalized by the Nepali state for centuries. And that marginalization sees continuity in the country’s new constitution that was supposed to give them a path to equality.
• The new constitution of Nepal, if it goes unchallenged, will be like a permanent earthquake to the Janajatis of Nepal. Ask the people protesting in front of the United Nations today. They are all practically relatives to the ruling elite in Nepal. These are people who feel the earthquake victims have not had it bad enough.
• It is the Madhesis of the southern plains who are fighting for themselves as well as the Janajatis. The Madhesi protests have gone past three months now. For the first few weeks they were hounded out of their district headquarters. Close to 50 were killed in contravention to national and international law, all duly recorded in a Human Rights Watch report. These people protesting in front of the UN are the Nepali Assad supporters. They sure have a right to protest. But ask them what they are protesting. They are protesting because they think they have a right to uphold human rights abuses.
• In recent weeks the Madhesis have resorted to protesting at the Nepal India border. It has been a weapon of last resort. The ruling elite had the option weeks ago to heed their demands and make constitutional amendments accordingly. They have refused to do so. Instead they have been doing what they have always been doing. They have been engaging in India bashing. India is being blamed for the fact that Madhesis have been protesting.
• These people in front of the UN fundamentally believe in a hierarchical social, political order. To them that is landscape. To them that is as natural as hills. Or the craters on the moon. It is an eery reality but it is what it is. Don’t let them fool you into thinking Modi is the reason Nepal’s earthquake victims might be facing a harsh winter. The fact that the man who has done more than any other person on earth for Nepal’s earthquake victims is being blamed for the sad plight of the Nepal earthquake victims should tell you. These are people with warped mindsets. They don’t deal with reality and facts. They don’t deal with logic. 
•  Nepal is a human hostage situation. The ruling elite in Kathmandu stands between the four billion dollars pledged by the international community, primarily India, and the earthquake victims, who are mostly Janajati, marginalized. The ruling Khas elite has inflicted massive structural inequality upon those Janajatis for over 250 years now. The earthquake has been seen as an “opportunity” by the ruling Khas elite to make those structural inequalities permanent. The earthquake victims, in a weak position to begin with, have been deemed too weak, weakened by the earthquake to protest.
• Thank God the Madhesis are protesting, on behalf of Madhesis, but also the Janajatis.
• The Madhesis, vastly marginalized in Nepal, are few in number in America. Close to 40% in Nepal, they are not even 1% of the Nepalis in America. They now find all so-called Nepali organizations in America are deaf to their just cause. An ideology of ethnic superiority is being espoused to project a false image that Modi is the enemy of Nepal and Nepal’s earthquake victims. True, Modi has been inconvenient to the unjust ruling class in Nepal. But then he is a democrat. He rose up the ranks listening to ordinary people. It is in Modi’s instincts to listen to the millions of protesting Madhesis of Nepal.
• Cut through the fog. The protests in front of the UN today are designed to hoodwink you. Your sympathies should not go with these protesters, but the tens of millions in Nepal they have been subjugating for centuries. Ask them as to why they have so utterly, completely ignored Nepal’s earthquake victims for all these months. Ask them why they so refuse to meet the just demands of the Madhesis. Ask them the simple questions.
• Modi has done more for Nepal’s earthquake victims than any other person. It is Nepal’s ruling elite that has treated those earthquake victims like enemies. It is Nepal’s corrupt ruling elite that has for months refused to touch the four billion dollars pledged by the global community for relief work for those earthquake victims. Not Modi. They should be blaming themselves. Instead they are blaming Modi. These protesters in front of the UN don’t have their facts right. Soon enough, Assad supporters are also going to march near here.
• The very communities of Nepal that have earned so much goodwill for themselves and for the country at large, like the Sherpas, and the Tamangs, and the Gurungs, and the Limbus, are the Janajatis these ruling Khas elite are hellbent on subjugating for yet another century. Don’t be fooled by them. Stand by those Sherpas. Global voices matter.
• Buddha was a Madhesi.
