History Of The Caste System

Googling up "history of the caste system" is one phrase that is a hopeless flop. It does not work. There is an inhrent bias of the Internet. The SEO clever articles are going to show up on the first page of results. That firt page might be an echo chamber of articles that are all subservient to the western bias that tries to prove that what we know as Hinduism today is at most 2500 years old, and even so was imported from somewhere in the Caucasian mountains. That "theory" is in complete contravention to the two most famous Hindu scriptures, namely the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.

This is like, if you do not think of Christ's resurrection as an actual event, not only are you not a Christian, you are in no position to hold a respectful dialogue with those who are.

There are Chinese who like to claim, yes, the Mahabharata war happened, but it happened maybe 1400 years ago, because a Chinese traveler who was passing through at the time saw bones, leftovers from the war. That thinking is designed to suggest the Chinese as a people are 5,000 years old, but the Indians are much younger.

But nobody beats the Caucasians and the Hindus quite like the Hindus themselves who say the war described in the Ramayana happened a few hundred thousand years ago. One Hindu scholar, well respected in Kathmandu, even told me on the phone only a few weeks ago that that war did not even take place on earth, but in another world! I was left scratching my head. My hometown is Janakpurdham, which is an actual town on earth in the southeast of Nepal. That town plays a large role in the Ramayana story. It is not in another world.

The Bible is not scripture because it is a long book. War And Peace by Leo Tolstoy is equally long. But neither Tolstoy nor anybody else has ever suggested that novel is scripture. A scripture has qualities. The Bible has them. The Ramayana and the Mahabharata also have them. One quality is statements of prophecy. God, in whom all time past, present and future is contained, of course sees every future event already, and passes some of that information through the scriptures. We call them prophecies. God in every scripture is described as someone who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, the True God is.

Columbus did not discover America. There were human beings living on the continent for thousands of years before Columbus ever showed up. But if you think Columbus discovered America, that is a very peculiar Eurocentric view going back less than 600 years. Columbus did discover America, if you are European, he sure did, for Europeans of his time he did. But that was not like Neil Armstrong landing on the moon. So far there is no evidence there were people on the moon before that.

You could observe the caste system as it exists today, and it is inescapable. The caste system is like the social operating system on the Indian subcontinent. It is in a degenerate form and ties up any possibility of progress. In its current form it is only a few thousand years old.

First you have to get the dates right. There are precise astronomical observations in the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, so precise they can be of use to modern astronomers. You can decipher the dates in the two scriptures (the Ramayana and the Mahabharata) from those observations. The Ramayana talks about events from about 7,000 years ago. The Mahabharata talks about events from about 5,000 years ago. That is modern astronomy, and completely discredits the Caucasian theory and the Chinese theory too.

You have to get the dates right. And you have to get the concept of the four yugas, or the ages. The ages, by the way, are also mentioned in the Bible. There is talk of "this age" many places in the Bible. As in, this among several ages. There is talk of "the end of this age." As in, the end of this age, and the beginning of a new one.

I am least interested in the history of the caste system. I am completely interested in the idea of reorganizing it. I would like to see two billion Brahmins on earth all over the world.

Not one character in either the Ramayana or the Mahabharata has been called a Hindu. There is only talk of dharma, which is not religion. Dharma means right conduct. It is about right and wrong. There is talk of eternal religion, or Sanatana Dharma. If God has no beginning and no end, how can humanity's relationship with that God be tied to this or that geography, or this or that span of time? The God of many universes surely is not the God of this or that country on earth.

The current age, or the Kali Yuga, the age when much sin happens, the worst of the four ages, has gone on for more than 5,000 years now. When the events of the current age were described to some of the leading characters in the previous age, they were in disbelief. Is that even possible? Could people treat each other so badly?

It is like there is a creature that is alive for just 10 days in summer. Try describing winter to that creature. It might not understand the concept of snow. Events in the Mahabharata are from the previous age, events in the Ramayana are from the age before that. It is hard for people alive today to wrap their heads around those events.

बाहुनवाद चकनाचुर नपारेसम्म देश Liberate हुँदैन

बाहुनवाद भनेको के? Hereditary Bramhinism भनेको Hereditary Monarchy भन्दा 100 गुना बढी गलत कुरो, देशलाई अगाडि बढन बाट रोकने। Hereditary Monarchy चकनाचूर ध्वस्त भयो। Hereditary Bramhinism ठीक त्यसै गरी चकनाचूर ध्वस्त पारनुपर्छ। होइन भने देशमा लोकतंत्र, सन्घीयता, समावेशीता केही सम्भव छैन। प्रगति सम्भव छैन। Prosperity सम्भव छैन।

सुधारिएको राजतन्त्र भनेको के? सुधारिएको बाहुनवाद त्यस्तै हो। परमेश्वर र आम जनता बीच middle man बन्न खोज्ने बाहुन । सारा समाज लाई बन्धक बनाएर बसेको बाहुन । प्रगति को बाटो मा बाधा बाहुन।

राजतन्त्र मासेको क्रांति ले हो। बाहुनवाद मास्न क्रांति नै चाहिन्छ। सम्विधान लेख्ने क्रांति ले हो। अनुमोदन गर्ने सम्विधान सभा ले हो।

मानव ले परमेश्वर सन्ग सीधा सम्पर्क गर्ने हो। सीधा प्रार्थना गर्ने हो। The one true Living God, the Creator of Heaven and earth, the loving, kind, forgiving God, the Eternal Being.

बाहुनवादी भनेको सीधा नरक जाने झुंड हो। आम जनता लाई परमेश्वर सम्म पुग्न बाट रोक्ने हरू स्वर्ग पुग्ने सम्भावना जीरो हो। जो आफु नरक जादैछ उसले अरूलाई स्वर्ग कसरी लान सक्छ। बाहुन भनेका कन्स का सन्तति।

जातपात मान्ने जति सबै बाहुनवादी, बाहुन नभए पनि ।
जातपात भनेको शैतान को धर्म। The Devil. कर्मकाण्डी बाहुन, empty rituals वाला हरु ।

दलित सन्ग माफी माग्ने होइन कि जातपात को प्रथा नै समाप्त गर्ने हो।

पुजारी बन्न पढ्नु पर्छ, डीग्री प्राप्त गर्नु पर्छ, जन्म ले हुँदैन।

मधेसी जनजाति दलित ले क्रांति को तैयारी गरे भो। सीमान्कन सहित को अन्तरिम सम्विधान चाहियो।

Priests are not born to priests any more than kings are born to kings. गाउँ गाउँ मा क्रांति हुन्छ।

Why The Brahmins Need To Vacate Power In Kathmandu

Hereditary Brahminism is Satan worship. Because hereditary Brahminism is the idea that these dudes are going to stand between God and the people. These are Satan's agents on earth. And the corruption is total. In Nepal much of the government budget stays unspent until the final few weeks of the year and then, poof, it's gone. The same formula is applied to foreign aid. Donor agents talk about the incompetence and the inefficiency but can't see the utter efficiency and competence of the corruption machine. It is a fine art.

The Brahmins already had every branch of government except the king's throne. So they orchestrated a people's movement to get rid of the non Brahmin king. Now they also occupy the throne.

The Brahmins own the bureaucracy, the judiciary, the legislative branch by owning all the major political parties. The Brahmins own the media, the NGOs. The Brahmins dominate the private sector and the parts they don't dominate, they milk it.

And of course there is the Brahmin electorate. After all, Nepal is a democracy. This priestly class is not exactly Hindu. These are Vedics, the Sanatanis, followers of the original, eternal religion. There has not been a better example of spiritual corruption in world history. The corrupt priests of Jesus' time have nothing on these Brahmins.

It is hereditary. If you are not born a Brahmin, tough. They claim the Vedas contain all knowledge that humanity will ever need and more knowledge than any university, ancient or modern, has ever had. But if you are not a Brahmin you can't read the books. And these Brahmins themselves don't read and understand them either.

Most of the Vedas is simply rituals. There is a ritual for everything. Brahmins recite them mindlessly and ask for fees.

The people of Nepal will not see democracy, federalism and prosperity unless they wipe out Hereditary Brahminism. There is nothing to reform. You come to the one true Living God.

Under hereditary Brahminism the body, mind, heart and soul are completely out of alignment. You have a country and society going round and round in circles. Forward progress is not being made.

There are concrete implications to not knowing the one true Living God. You see them every day all over Nepal. The corruption is total and it is unrelenting and it will stay that way until Hereditary Brahminism is completely demolished, utterly uprooted. These are sick people, these are Satan's agents.

The non Brahmins are almost 85% of the country’s population, so obviously it is not about the numbers. You can't liberate people who are not even aware they are slaves.

Democracy is one person one vote. Right now the person does not exist in Nepal. Somebody who has not conquered death is not even a person. Somebody who has not come to realize their soul is unique in the history and future of time is not even a person. There is but one God, there always has been but one God. There is no other God but the one true Living God. That is the path to liberation and prosperity, in Nepal, in India, in China, in the Arab countries, in Pakistan.  

Ancient or modern, knowledge is wonderful and should be shared widely. You should become a priest like you become a doctor or a health care worker, not by birth but by earning a degree. But such reforms are impossible. Brahmins need the Dalit to be Dalit. There is no room for reform, and so you utterly demolish.

These are ignorant, corrupt, Satanic Brahmins, standing between God and people, between people and liberty, between people and prosperity, between people and Heaven.

Bringing White Folks Under The Caste System

The Brahmins of Nepal are more convinced than the Taliban that God is on their side. It is beneath them to carry guns. They pay people to do that for them.

The four tier hierarchy is as natural to them as the three branches of government are to the Americans. Order is not possible otherwise. It is that or chaos. They do not believe in violence, but they do believe in order. And to maintain order they are as convinced about threat of force as the police in China or the American FBI. It's just that their idea of order is different. Order is the four tier hierarchy.

That four tier hierarchy is so amazing, if you can just maintain it, order flows out of it. You don't even need the police, or very little of it. And so maintaining that four tier hierarchy is way more important than building a modern state.

And what modern state! Everything modern was already conceived and invented by their ancestors aeons ago. There is mention of missiles and fighter planes in the Mahabharata.

To them the caste system is an invention, a positive, social invention. Of course it has universal value. To them the caste system is penicillin.

They gave Nepal a constitution where Madhesis and Janajatis are rendered second and third class. The Dalits are where they always were supposed to be. They know that. They are not hiding it any more than Americans are hiding their Declaration Of Independence.

They are genuinely puzzled as to why the Madhesis are agitating, and if they are agitating, that is but a challenge to the natural order of things. And that explains the cruel use of force, human rights be damned.

Their behavior defies western logic so much westerners too often simply go in denial. There is much love in the west for Nepal. Nepal has been the most popular destination among Peace Corps volunteers for the entire existence of that program. How can it be? How could things go so horribly wrong suddenly?

Nepal gets loved for the Buddhism, but these Brahmins wiped out Buddhism from the Indian subcontinent; it was Rwanda. The Buddha rejected the caste system wholesale, any thinking person would, so these Brahmins rejected The Buddha, tit for tat. There was blood. The Buddha's rejection was peaceful and through enlightened discourse. The Brahmins were butchers.

The Buddha was a Madhesi. It is Madhesis who are agitating for basic rights.

Nepal gets loved for exotic cultures like the Sherpas and the Newars and the other Janajati groups have, all groups rendered officially second class by the Brahmins. The constitution of Nepal is fundamentally hostile to all those exotic cultures that Peace Corps volunteers have admired for decades.

The mercenary Gurkha soldiers are not Brahmins.

But they still shamelessly exploit the global brand value of The Buddha. Just like they engage in bottomless corruption of the state treasury even as they preach their spiritual ways put them above the West and its flagrant material ways. Nothing physical is real. The only life that matters is the afterlife. Wealth is but corruption, all wealth.

The 2015 earthquake has shone the headlights upon them. The world is puzzled with the behavior. Why would a government stand between global aid and its people in dire need! Makes no sense. Except you are not respecting the order. The way it is supposed to work is, you are to hand it over to them. And they will do as they please. And you have to make peace with that. They did disburse over $800 million already. Very little of it ended up with the intended recipients. The corruption is total.

The Brahmins of Nepal are all destined for Hell. Their ways are the ways of The Devil.

These are not Hindus, these are caste Brahmins. They don't give two hoots about Modi, for example. It is written on Modi's forehead in big letters, he is not a Brahmin. He was not born one, and that's the end of it.

In Bhutan they have a Gross Happiness Index. These Brahmins have a Gross Caste Index. It is the only index that matters to them. You could not scare them with talk of negative GDP growth. They don't care. The four tier hierarchy gives them direct access to the state coffers. They are not impacted.

The aftermath of the earthquake has seen the Brahmins try and bring white folks under the umbrella of the caste system. That white folks have hesitated is like some parents choosing not to vaccinate their children. Or so the Brahmins think.

It is mind boggling as to how these Brahmins managed to exploit Marxism. They used it as a tool to use the people to capture the one last remaining structure of the state that they already did not have, otherwise they also completely own the media in Nepal.

The caste system is nothing religious or spiritual, it is a sick social, political ideology. But it has served Brahmins well, or so they think. 300 years ago Nepal and America had comparable levels of per capita income.

So far the Madhesi movement has been about trying to convince the Brahmins. It is a recipe for failure. There can be no genuine Madhesi liberation unless there is a total rejection of the caste system.

The king was not convinced before the country became a republic. The former king is still not convinced.

Trying to convince the Brahmins otherwise is an impossible task. You have to make peace with the fact that a thousand years from now they might still be sticking to their casteist worldview.

The goal can not be to convince. That you try to do after you have thrown them out of power. The goal has to be to politically outmaneuver, just like with the king. Madhesis, Janajatis and Dalits are 80% of Nepal. It is lack of political homework on their part that gives the Brahmins the upper hand. The Brahmins don't want a one person one vote democracy or federalism because, strictly speaking, they are not even 13% of the country.

Hereditary Brahminism is 100 times more harmful than Hereditary Monarchy. The Hereditary Monarchy needed to be thrown out of one palace. Hereditary Brahminism needs to be said no to in every village in Nepal.

Madhesis can not achieve genuine liberty without rejecting the caste system wholesale. The caste system, by definition, is not designed to give you equality.

The Brahmins can be politically defeated easily. But they can not be convinced for a hundred years. There have been 36 rounds of failed talks. There will be 136 more of those as long as the goal remains to convince the Brahmins. What are you trying to convince them? That they should ditch the caste system? सनातनी, हिन्दु र जातपात

पहाड़ी आर्य हरुले मधेसमा दलित लाई थिचोमिचो भयो भनेर शिकायत गर्ने गरेका छन। त्यो भनेको के?

खस समुदाय मा जातपात छ। पहाड़ मा सबभन्दा बढ़ी दलित सुदुर पश्चिम मा छ। तर त्यो खस समुदाय मा हो। खस र पहाड़ी आर्य फरक फरक हुन। कर्णाटक बाट आएर पहाड़ी आर्यले खसको भाषा टिपेको हो तर दुई समुह नितांत फरक हुन।

पहाड़ी आर्य भनेको सनातनी, हिन्दु होइन।

के सनातनी समुदायमा जातपात छैन? मैले ख्याल ख्याल सोधेको होइन। साँच्चै सोधेको। के सनातनी समुदायमा जातपात छैन? के सनातनी धर्म मा दलित हुँदैन? छुवाछुत हुँदैन? बाहुन क्षेत्री मात्र हुन्छ? वैश्य र दलित हुँदैन? क्षेत्री त कर्णाटक बाट आएको होइन। क्षेत्री त स्थानीय लाई बाहुनले बनाइदिएको हो।

भने पछि सनातनी समुदायमा बाहुन मात्र हुन्छ त? कि बाहुन पनि हुँदैन? जात नै नभए पछि के को बाहुन?

यदि सनातन धर्म मा जातपात हुँदैन, जातपात भनेको पछि हिन्दु ले बनाएको हो भने सनातनी हरुको कथन जायज छ। मधेसी लाई दोस्रो दर्जाको नागरिक बनाउन खोजेको होइन कि सबक सिकाउन खोजेको। तिमीलाई दोस्रो दर्जाको नागरिक बन्न गार्हो भयो भने दलित लाई चौथो दर्जाको भयर बस्दा कति गार्हो हुन्छ लु हेर।

त्यो भनिएको हो?

यो मलाई थाहा नभएको कुरो।

के सनातनी समुदायमा जातपात छैन?

यदि त्यसो हो भने मधेसी समुदायले जातपात समाप्त गर्नुपर्यो कि रोडमैप ल्याउनु पर्यो। जस्तो कि बच्चन भन्ने थर त्यसको कुनै जात छैन। त्यस्तै सय दुई सय थर नया थर बनाएर सबै मधेसी हिंदु ले बिना जातपातको हिन्दु बन्नुपर्ने भो। पहिला नेपालमा त्यस पछि भारतमा। माओवादी समस्या पनि भारतमा भन्दा पहिला नेपालमा सुल्झिएको हो।

त्यस अर्थमा नेपाल लाई महाभारत मान्नुपर्ने हुन्छ।

सनातनी समुदायमा जातपात छैन र मधेसी समुदायमा जातपात छ भने मधेसीले होइन मधेसी का विरुद्ध आंदोलन छेड्नु पर्ने भो।

भारतमा भन्दा पहिला नेपालमा गर्नुपर्ने कुरा अर्को एउटा छ। दक्षिण भारत र उत्तर भारत बीचको भावनात्मक एकीकरण। त्यो भारतमा पनि भइनसकेको कुरा। नायिका दीपिका दक्षिण की। अमिताभ की उत्तराधिकारी।

त्यो कम्युनिस्टले नेपाललाई पनि रुसजस्तै जातविहीन समाज ठान्छ । हुँदाहुँदा हामीलाई स्टालिन सार्कीको छोरो थियो भनेर पढाइयो । स्टालिनका बाबुले जुत्ता सिलाउँथ्यो पो भनेको हो त, सार्की भनेको होइन ।’ ..... ‘दलितकी छोरी राम्री भई भने पनि त्यसलाई, यो त दलितजस्ती छैन’ भन्छन् भन्ने तपाईंको भनाइ थियो । ...... जंगबहादुरले गरे । १९१० सालमा उनले ल्याएको मुलुकी ऐन नेपालको कानुनी इतिहासमा सबैभन्दा मिहिनेत गरेर ल्याइएको ऐन हो । यसमा स–साना कुराहरू पनि जात व्यवस्थाअनुसार ल्याइएको छ । कसले कसको जुठो खान हुने, कसले कसको खान नहुने, कसले भाउजू बिगारे के गर्ने, कसले बिगार्दा के गर्ने भन्नेमा ५–१० रुपैयाँसम्म पनि फरक ढंगको वर्ग व्यवस्थामा आधारित कानुनी व्यवस्था यो ऐनले सुरु गर्‍यो । त्यहाँदेखि सौन्दर्य मूल्यहरू र वर्गको निर्माण हुँदै आयो र त्यसले २०१७ सालसम्म निरन्तरता पायो । ...... यसको दोस्रो चरण २०१७ मा राजा महेन्द्रको नेतृत्वमा देशलाई संगठित गर्ने अभियानमा आयो ।

पृथ्वीनारायणबाट सुरु भएको संरचनाको अन्तिम, सबैभन्दा व्यापक र घनीभूत कडीको रूपमा महेन्द्र शासनलाई लिन सकिन्छ ।

जसले सौन्दर्यको मूल्य, सौन्दर्य दृष्टिदेखि लिएर शब्दहरूसमेत निर्माण गर्‍यो । त्यसमा हिन्दु, जुन हिमालको पनि होइन, चुरेभन्दा मुनिको पनि होइन, त्यो बीचको मान्छेको गहुँ गोरो सौन्दर्य नै सुन्दर भनेर चिनिए । पृथ्वी नारायणका पालामा सुरु भएको संरचनाको एक प्रकारको चक्र महेन्द्र कालमा पूरा भयो । ......... अहिले आर्थिक रूपमा जुन वर्ग समृद्ध देखिन्छ, त्यो उत्थान पृथ्वीनारायण शाहको एकीकरणपछि र जंगबहादुरको मुलुकी ऐनपछि नै तयार भएको देखिन्छ । उनीहरूले जागिर, आफ्ना कर्मचारीलाई बिर्ता, नजराना, बक्सिस दिने काम गरे । जमिनको बाँटफाँट पनि खास परिवार, खास मान्छेलाई दिने काम गरे ।

हुँदाहुँदा उनीहरूले त जातै फेरिदिन्थे ।

..... हिन्दु समाजका मारवाडी, जनजातिमा थकाली र मधेसी समाजमा कायस्थ अपवाद हो । अपवाद छोडेर हेर्ने हो भने वर्गको जग वर्ण व्यवस्थामा आधारित छ । पृथ्वीनारायणबाट सुरु भएर जंगबहादुर हुँदै महेन्द्रसम्म आइपुग्दा वर्णमा आधारित वर्ग तयार हुन्छ । त्यसपछि निर्माण भएका छन्– होचो मान्छेलाई हेला गर्ने, कालो नराम्रो, महिला कमजोर भन्ने कुराहरू । सीता त महान् भइन् तर रूख चढ्ने तामाङ महिलाको कतै चर्चा भएन । ....... मेरै घरको उदाहरण छ । सानो दाइको विवाहको कुरा थियो । उसले केटी हेरेर आयो । मन पर्‍यो । आमाले कतै मेलामा हेरेर भन्नुभयो,

‘बाँसजस्ती सिनट्याङ्ग्री छ केटी त्यसले कसरी काम गरेर खान्छे ?’

मेरो दाइ हिन्दी सिनेमा हेर्ने मान्छे । उसलाई हेमा मालिनी र बैजयन्ती मालाजस्ता केटी राम्रा लाग्थे । उसलाई त्यस्तै सुन्दर लाग्थ्यो । तर, हाम्रो परम्परागत समाज श्रममा आधारित थियो, यसैले आमालाई काम गर्न सक्ने हृष्ठपुष्ट चाहिएको थियो । ....... तपाईं बोक्सी भनिने कुराको उदाहरण लिनुस् । सामान्यत: पुरुषलाई बोक्सो भनिंदैन, साह्रै गरिब भएमात्र हो, नत्र महिलालाई नै यो लाञ्छना लगाइन्छ । त्यसमा पनि कर्नेलकी बुहारीलाई बोक्सी भनिँदैन । माथिल्लो वर्ग वा जातिको मान्छे बोक्सी हुँदैन । ......

हुँदाहुँदा पहाडको दमाईलाई गाली गर्दा पनि ‘डुमजस्तो’ भनिदिने

...... डोरबहादुर विष्ट त भाग्नुभयो । उहाँले ‘सबै जातको फूलबारी’ लेख्नुभयो । त्यहाँ अछूत बनाइएका जातहरूबारे कुनै चर्चा छैन । जसले ‘फ्याटलिज्म एन्ड डेभलपमेन्ट’ लेख्यो त्यो स्तरको समाजशास्त्रीले अध्ययनमा दलितलाई सामेल नै नगर्ने ? ...... मेरो अनुभवमा राजधानीमा वर्ण व्यवस्था सबैभन्दा कठोर छ, अहिले पनि । त्यसमा सबैभन्दा पिंधमा जाने हो भने नेवार जातिमा सबैभन्दा बढी देखिन्छ । उनीहरू आफैं वर्ण व्यवस्थाका माथिल्ला होइनन् । सहरीकरण, बजारीकरण र ज्याला प्रणालीका कारण केही खुकुलो भएजस्तो देखिन्छ । यहाँ आएर बस्यो भने कसले चिन्ने ? सबै कारोबार पैसाको हुने भएपछि अलि खुकुलो भएको हो । .......

मैले जुन स्कुलमा पढें, ९ वर्षसम्म मैले त्यो स्कुलमा पानी खाइनँ । सबैले पानी खाने ठाउँमा मैले पनि खान सम्भव थिएन ।

..... म कहिल्यै दोस्रो नभएको विद्यार्थी हुँ । अन्तिममा एसएलसी दिएपछि मैले स्कुलको गाग्रो फुटाइदिएर हिँडेको हुँ । किनभने, त्यहाँ फर्केर जानुपर्ने थिएन । घर–गाउँमा पनि हामीले प्रयोग गर्ने इनार बेग्लै थियो, पँधेरो छुट्टै थियो । ..... राजनीतिक प्रतिनिधित्वमा पनि दलितले उपाध्यक्षसम्म पाउने हुन्थ्यो । ललितपुरको एउटा गाउँ छ, किटनी भन्ने । त्यहाँ ठूलो संख्या दलितको तर अध्यक्ष सधैं अरू हुने, दलित उपाध्यक्षसम्म मात्रै । पछि सहरीकरणका कारण व्यक्तिगत धारा आए, मन्दिर चोकबाट उठेर घरघरमा पुगे, सबैका आ–आफ्नै भगवान् हुन थाले । धारा, मन्दिर र भगवान् व्यक्तिगत भएपछि छुवाछूत हुने ठाउँ घटे । मन्दिरमा पनि पशुपतिमा यति धेरै मान्छे आउन थाले कि रोक्न साध्यै भएन । पहिला रोकिन्थ्यो । १० सालमा पशुपति प्रवेश गर्न संघर्ष नै भएको हो । यति धेरै मान्छे पक्रियो कि थानामा राख्ने ठाउँ भएन र छाडेको रे †

त्यो बेला पशुपतिको गेटमा लेखेकै थियो, इसाई, कुकुर, दलित, अछूत पस्न हुँदैन ।

......... पहिले समाजमा दुई मुख्य चीज पुँजी हुन्थे– जमिन र सीप । जमिन राख्नै नपाउने र सीप बालीप्रथामा गएपछि उन्नति कसरी हुन्छ ? बालीप्रथामा हुनेबित्तिकै जिन्दगीभर बाँधिने भयो । ‘हाम्रो गोरु, हाम्रो भैंसी’ भनेजस्तो ‘हाम्रो दमाई’ भन्ने भयो । ..... जसलाई ३ हजार वर्षदेखि नपढ्ने लत बनाइएको छ, ऊ स्कुल देख्नासाथ जाँदैन । आर्थिक अवस्थाले पनि जान मिल्दैन । खानैका लागि श्रम गर्ने कि स्कुल जाने ? आमाबुबा काममा गएपछि ठूला बच्चाले साना बच्चा हेर्नुपथ्र्यो । यसैले कसैले मन नलागेर वा रहर पढेनन् भन्ने होइन । सुरुमा खुलेका अधिकांश स्कुलमा छात्रावास थिए । टाढा–टाढाबाट पढ्न आउनुपर्ने थिए । छात्रावासमा दलितलाई बस्न कसले दिने ? छात्रावासको फी कसरी तिर्ने ? अनि पढ्ने कसरी ? ....... सुन, तामा, चाँदीको काम गर्नेहरू त प्राविधिकभन्दा माथि वैज्ञानिकको स्तरका हुन् । मैले कतिपयलाई भने दलितहरू अछूत हुन् भने वेद पढेर फलाम पगाल्नुहोस् । जसले फलाम पगाल्छ, त्यो अशिक्षित कसरी भयो । तिनीहरू वैज्ञानिकको स्तरमा हुन् । .......

युरोपमा पुँजीवादको विकास शिल्पकार र व्यापारीको संयोजनबाट भयो । यहाँ त शिल्पकार र व्यापारीबीच कहिल्यै संयोजन नै हुन दिइएन । शिल्पकारलाई त झन् छुवाछूत नै गरियो ।

...... आध्यात्मिक ज्ञानको असाधारण विकास भएको

दक्षिण एसियामा भौतिक विज्ञान र केमेस्ट्रीको विकास किन भएन ?

बौद्ध दर्शनदेखि लिएर, लोकायत मतदेखि कपिलको शिशु भौतिकवाददेखि लिएर हिन्दुशास्त्रअन्तर्गतका यावत् शाखादेखि लिएर एस्टोनोमी पनि विकास भयो । ताराहरूको अध्ययन र खौगोलिक अध्ययनमा पूर्वमा भएको अध्ययनलाई महानतम् नै भन्न मिल्छ । तर

भौतिक विज्ञान र केमेस्ट्रीमा किन विकास भएन भने विज्ञानमा प्रगति हुन परम्परादेखिको ज्ञान र औपचारिक शिक्षाको ज्ञानको फ्युजन हुनुपर्छ ।

तर यहाँ के गरियो भने परम्परागतदेखिको ज्ञान भएको पढ्न जान पाएनन् । जो औपचारिक शिक्षा पढ्न पाउँछन् तिनीसँग परम्परागत ज्ञान नै छैन । ......... हुँदाहुँदा हामीलाई स्टालिन सार्कीको छोरो थियो भनेर पढाइयो । स्टालिनका बाबुले जुत्ता सिलाउँथ्यो पो भनेको हो त, सार्की भनेको होइन । जीवनी अनुवादमा उसलाई सार्की भनियो जबकि रुसमा सार्की नै थिएन । कम्युनिस्ट पार्टीले केही काम त गरे तर नेपाली समाजलाई अध्ययन गर्ने र त्यहीअनुसारको नीति तय गर्ने काम भएन । ...... सामन्तवाद जेमा टिकेको थियो त्यसलाई नष्ट नगरीकन, त्यही धरातल कायम राखेर पुँजीवादमा रूपान्तरण हुने हो भने त्यो पनि उस्तै हुनेछ । म त भन्छु, त्यो आइसक्यो । उदाहरण हेर्नुस्– हिन्दु समाजमा संगीतको काम दमाई, कपाली, गन्धर्भले गर्थे । तर अहिले म्युजिक नेपालको मालिक को छ ? जुन बेलासम्म जुत्ता सिउने पेसा सेवाको थियो, सार्की र तराईमा चमारहरूले गरे । जब उद्योग बन्यो, अनि त दाहाल ब्राह्मणहरू जुत्ता उत्पादक छन् । वर्ण व्यवस्थामा आधारित पुँजीवाद भनेको यही हो । ...... वर्ण व्यवस्थामा जो सत्ताधारी थियो, पुँजीवादमा आउँदा पनि त्यही मान्छे नै आए । हिजोको बालीमा काम गर्ने मजदुरमा परिणत भए । हिजोका सामन्त आजका साहुमा परिणत भए । पूरै गरिब, दलित मजदुरमा परिणत हुनु भनेको फेरि पनि वर्ण व्यवस्थाबाहेक केही होइन । ...... विदेशमा श्रम गर्न जानेमा सबभन्दा बढी गरिब र दलितहरू छन् । पढे लेखेका एनजीओ र आईएनजीओसँग नजिक भएका अमेरिका पनि पुगेका छन् । ती निकै थोरै छन् । पहिले खाडी जानेहरू ६ महिना खेत जोतेपछि साहुसँग ऋण लिएर जान्थे । त्यसमा २४ प्रतिशत ब्याज र फर्किंदा १ तोला सुन ल्याउनुपर्ने हुन्थ्यो । बाउ विदेश गएपछि पसलेले पनि बच्चालाई चाउचाउ दिन्थ्यो । आएपछि ब्याज तिर्‍यो ........ साहुले दाइ मरे भने भाइलाई लगानी गरेर पठाउँछ, आफ्नो पैसा ल्याउनका लागि । किनकि मरेको मान्छेसँग पैसा माग्न भएन । ...... पछिल्लो समय माओवादी युद्धले यस्ता मान्छेलाई बोल्न सक्ने बनाइदिएको छ । अहिले ब्याज घटेको छ, सुन ल्याइदिनु पर्दैन । खाडीको रोजगारीले ठोस परिवर्तनचाहिँ के भएको छ भने, खाडीबाट पैसा कमाएर आउनेमध्ये अधिकांश दलितले तीनवटा काम गर्ने गरेका छन् । पहिलो आएर विवाह गरेका छन्, दोस्रो भएको पुरानो घर भत्काएर नयाँ बनाएका छन् र अर्को साहुको उही काम नलाग्ने जग्गा किनेका छन् ।

जग्गाको ठूलो प्यास छ ।

जसको २० पुस्ताले हली भएर त्यो जग्गामा बितायो, उसका लागि आफैं मालिक भएर त्यो जग्गामा उभिनु ठूलो कुरा हो । .... मिटिङ बस्नै समस्या हुन्थ्यो । कि दलितको घरमा बस्नुपर्‍यो, कि गैरदलितको गोठमा । अहिलेचाहिँ नेपाली समाजको चेतना महिलालाई समितिहरूको उपाध्यक्ष र दलितलाई सदस्य बनाउनेसम्म पुगेको छ । सदस्यबाट माथि बनाउन गाह्रो छ । ..... नेपालको वर्ण व्यवस्था रंगमा आधारित होइन । यसैले योसँग रंगको आधारमा लडेर हुँदैन । यसका लागि समग्र समाजलाई हेर्ने वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण परिवर्तन गर्नुपर्छ । कसैले भनिदिन्छ– ‘सुंगुरको रगत पनि रातो हुन्छ ।’ ...... विश्व दृष्टिकोणको प्रश्न हल नगरीकन दलित आन्दोलन र जात व्यवस्थाविरुद्धको लडाइँ हुनै सक्दैन । यही विश्व दृष्टिकोणको मुद्दा हल नभएका कारण भारतमा अम्बेडकर फेल खाए । त्यस बेला कानुनमा पीएचडी गरेका व्यक्ति, लन्डनमा कानुन पढेर आएका उनी नेहरू वा अरूभन्दा कम बुद्धिमान थिएनन् । मलाई लाग्छ समस्या उनमै र उनको दृष्टिकोणमा थियो । जात व्यवस्थाको अध्ययन र त्यसको चिरफारसम्ममा त उनको साँच्चै माहनतम खोज थियो, संसारले वास्ता नगरेर मात्र हो । जब त्यसको समाधानको निम्ति राजनीति र दर्शनमा गए तब उनी उही माहत्मा गान्धी र नेहरूलाई मान्य भएको दर्शन र राजनीतिमा प्रवेश गरे । त्यसै कारण उनको जीवनको अन्त्यमा निराशाबाहेक केही हात लागेन । त्यस कारणले उनी बौद्ध धर्मतिर लागे ....... ५६ सालमा म वीरगन्जबाट जनकपुर जाँदै थिएँ । बीचमा

एकजना मान्छे बसमा चढ्यो । गाडीमा सिट खाली थियो तर ऊ सिटमा बसेन, भुईंमा बस्यो । सहचालकले ऊसँग पैसा पनि मागेनन् ।

ऊ के थियो ? एउटा श्रमजीवी अर्को श्रमजीवीलाई मान्छे नै मान्दैन, पैसै माग्दैन .........

पहाडको लेखकले मधेसको पीडा ठीक ढंगबाट लेखेका छैनन् । किनकि पहाडको लेखकले १० जना मधेसीलाई उही अनुहारको देख्छ । उसको दृष्टि कालो रंगबाट फर्केर आउँछ । ऊभित्रको वेदनासम्म पुग्दै पुग्दैन ।

....... त्यसैगरी गैरदलित साहित्यकारले पनि दलितको चेतनामा सैद्धान्तिक रूपमा बुझ्दछ । तर भित्र छिर्ने बेलामा आएको छैन । दलित साहित्यकार नै त्यहाँ पुग्न सकेको छैन । तर मात्राचाहिं अब बढेको छ ।

वन समितिको एउटा सदस्य हालेजस्तै उपन्यासमा पनि काम न काजको भए पनि एउटा दलित पात्र घुसाउने चलन सुरु भएको छ ।

...... मिडियाको मूल चरित्र विशेषत: ४६ सालपछि दलितहरूमाथि साहनुभूति राख्ने देखिन्छ । ‘उसलाई दिसा खुवाए, ए’ भनेर सहानुभूतिमा पुगेको छ । उसको अधिकारलाई समर्थन गर्ने भएको छैन । आधारभूत र जगमा परिवर्तन भएको छैन । साहनुभूतिको स्तरमा पुग्नु पनि ठूलै हो । किनभने, त्यसअघि दया गर्ने र वास्तै नगर्ने थियो । महिलाको स्थिति पनि यस्तै छ, हिजो बेवास्तामा थियो, ‘रूपमती’ मा आउँदा दयामा आयो । अहिले साहनुभूतिमा आएको छ । अब मोटरसाइकलको पछाडि बस्नुहुन्छ भन्ने ठाउँमा आएको छ । तर अझै उसले चलाएकोमा बस्ने भन्ने आएन । शासकीय धारको दृष्टिकोण अहिले उदार लोकतन्त्रमा आधारित छ । उदार लोकतन्त्रले सहानुभूति दिन्छ । उदार लोकतन्त्रले कोठा दिन्छ, ट्राफिक व्यवस्था राम्रो गर्ने, बस दिने, कार दिने तर १२ घन्टा काम लगाउने । र, आफ्नोबारेमा सोच्ने समयचाहिँ नदिने ।

जबरजस्ती धर्म परिवर्तन गर्ने तरिका के हो?

स्वेच्छा ले पनि धर्म परिवर्तन गर्न नपाउने भन्ने सोंच छ। जुन कि मानव अधिकार को सिद्धांत सँग मिल्ने कुरा होइन। मानव अधिकार को सिद्धांत अनुसार जुन सुकै धर्म मानने बाबु आमा को घर मा जन्मे पनि व्यक्ति ले आफु ख़ुशी को धर्म मानन पाऊँछ र त्यो उसको प्राइवेट कुरा हो। त्यो राज्य (state) को चासो को विषय नै होइन। राज्य (state) को चासो को विषय होइन, अरु नागरिक हरु को चासो को विषय होइन। उसको मानव अधिकार। नितान्त व्यक्तिगत कुरा। बिहे जस्तो।

भने पछि धर्म परिवर्तन बारे तांडव नृत्य किन हुँदैछ? के नेपाल मा धर्म परिवर्तन जबरजस्ती हुने गरेको छ? मान्छे हरु लाई किडनैप गरेर चर्च, मस्जिद, गुम्बा लाने काम भएको छ? आफूखुशी धर्म परिवर्तन अधिकार को कुरा। त्यसमा छलफल हुँदैन। तर जबरजस्ती धर्म परिवर्तन गर्ने तरिका के हो?

केही गरी कसै लाई किडनैप गरेर चर्च, मस्जिद, गुम्बा लाने काम भएको छ भने त्यस पछि ती मान्छे चर्च, मस्जिद, गुम्बा बाहिर फर्केर आउन दिएको छ कि छैन? छैन भने पुलिस ले रेड गर्नु पर्यो। मान्छे त किडनैप गर्न पाइँदैन। किडनैप गर्ने लाई १०-२० वर्ष जेल चलान हुन्छ। होइन, किडनैप गरेर चर्च, मस्जिद, गुम्बा लगिएको मान्छे बाहिर आएको छ भने उ आफै हिँडेर पुलिस चौकी जानु पर्यो। म अहिले त स्वतंत्र छु तर मलाई दुई घंटा अगाडि किडनैप गरिएको थियो भनेर उजुरी दिनु पर्यो।

अनि किडनैप गरेर चर्च, मस्जिद, गुम्बा लगिएको मान्छे त्यस पछि फेरि फर्केर चर्च, मस्जिद, गुम्बा जाँदैन होला। बलात्कार को शिकार केटी फर्केर बलात्कारी को मा तिमी त मेरो प्रेमी भन्न जान्छे?

नेपालमा जबरजस्ती धर्म परिवर्तन गर्ने काम भएको छ भनेर हल्ला फैलाउने हरु गलत बोल्दैछन्। आफ्नो इच्छा लागेको धर्म मान्नु प्रत्येक नेपाली नागरिक को अधिकार को कुरो। र प्राइवेट कुरो। त्यो धर्म हिन्दु धर्म नहुन पनि सक्छ। आफ्नो इच्छा लागेको धर्म मानेको व्यक्ति लाई कसैले हरयास (harass) गर्ने काम गर्छ भने बरु त्यस्ता लाई पुलिस ले समात्नु पर्छ।किडनैप गर्नु किन अपराध हो भने मान्छे को हिडडुल गर्ने स्वतंत्रता छ, त्यो हनन गर्न पाइँदैन। त्यस्तै मान्छे को आफ्नो इच्छा लागेको धर्म मानने कुरा डिस्टर्ब गर्ने क्रियाकलाप गर्ने हरु ले पनि एक किसिम ले किडनैप नै गरेका हुन। त्यस्ता लाई कानुन लाग्नु पर्छ।

बनाउ हिन्दु धर्म लाई आकर्षक। जातपात खतम पार। अनि गैर हिन्दु स्वेच्छा ले हिन्दु बन्छ। त्यो गर्नु छैन। खाली अरु लाई दुक्ख दिने काम।

कमल थापा यसमा किन लागेको भने उ मानव अधिकार मा विश्वास गर्ने मान्छे नै होइन।

अम्बेडकर को निष्कर्ष

आफ्नो जीवन को उत्तरार्ध मा आएर अम्बेडकर ले भने, "मैले जीवन भर हिन्दु धर्म भित्र दलित को उत्थान को बाटो खोजें। गलत ठाउँ मा खोजें। दलित को उत्थान धर्म परिवर्तन मा छ। " तिनी आफैले हिन्दु धर्म छाड़े, बौद्ध धर्म अपनाए। त्यो दलित लाई स्पष्ट सन्देश हो। गांधी भन्दा अम्बेडकर महान भन्ने हरु टन्न छन।

सीके राउत को अडान अम्बेडकर संग मिल्छ। मधेसी को उत्थान नेपाल भित्र संभव नै छैन भन्ने न हो सीके को अडान?

सीके राउत लाई गैर कानुनी र गैर संवैधानिक किसिम ले हाउस अरेस्ट मा राखिएको छ। त्यस बारे सारा देश मौन छ। त्यसलाई rule of law, अथवा लोकतंत्र र मानव अधिकार को मुद्दा नमान्ने हरु ले लोकतंत्र र मानव अधिकार नमानेको नबुझेको भन्ने स्पष्ट छ। नेपाल अहिले फ़ासिस्ट प्रतिक्रांतिकारी हरुको पकड़ मा छ। तिनले खस समुदाय को प्रतिनिधित्व गर्छ भन्नु खस समुदाय एउटा फ़ासिस्ट प्रतिक्रांतिकारी समुदाय हो भन्नु हो।

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

आजादी के बाद के ४० साल

भारत की गुलामी मुग़ल बादशाहों ने शुरू नहीं की। उससे पहले हिन्दु समाज को जातपात का आविष्कार कर के तोडा गया। ब्रिटिश क्या खाक डिवाइड एंड रूल करेंगे, उनके आने के ४-५ सौ साल पहले ही हिन्दु समाज आतंरिक रूप से टुट गयी थी। खुद हिन्दु लोगों ने तोड़ा। अभी भी टुटा हुवा है।

आजादी के बाद के  ४० साल के दौरान जनसंख्या वृद्धि दर भी २-३% और आर्थिक वृद्धि दर भी २-३% ---- तो देश जहिं का तहिं रह गया। सत्यजित रे के फिल्मों में जो गाओं दिखता है अभी भी वही गाओं दिखता है।

ये बात संजय गांधी को अखड़ गयी। तो उन्होंने सोंचा, आर्थिक वृद्धि दर तो खुद बेलायत, अमरिका ४% करते हैं। हम २-३% कर लेते हैं वही काफी है, तो देश का प्रगति हो तो आखिर हो कैसे? चीन में One Child Policy था, तो उन्होंने ने सोंचा, हम किसी से कम नहीं, और ला डाली Zero Child Policy. जबरजस्ती लोगों का नसबंदी करबाने लगे। उसी के लिए देश में इमरजेंसी भी लागु कर दिया, जिस बात का गुस्सा लालु को अभी तक है।

Challenging Caste

Caste by definition is about treating people as unequals. And thus is wrong. Human equality is the goal. And so religion has to be challenged. The social order has to be challenged. '

The best way to challenge caste is by converting. I think Dalits should convert en masse into Buddhism, Christianity or whatever religion of choice. And in the process they should give up their Hindu first and last names. In the Hindu order it is your last name that gives away your caste. And so in converting you have to get rid of your last name.

Another way is intermarriage. But the caste system is not designed for that. It does not make room for intercaste marriage, although it happens. There is no way to say you do not belong to any caste, you are just plain Hindu. To be Hindu is to be a member of this or that caste.

There can be an urban flavor where you have watered down caste to just celebrating the major festivals.

Urbanization, education, modernization, and wealth creation are other ways to fight casteism.

But the best way is conversion. Ambedkar felt the same way. I agree with him.
